I just ordered this Brog churchwarden off of Ebay. I'm quite excited because I love the look of churchwardens. For $23 USD it includes the stand and Czech tool plus free shipping.

That's a great deal. That little pipe chair also folds flat so you can put in in your pipe pouch; they're great. Do you perhaps love churchwardens because of a certain Mr. Tolkien? He's the reason I got into pipe smoking way back in 1979...set it down for years and picked it up again a few years ago.
You realize it will be difficult to stop buying pipes now, right? We call it PAD: Pipe Acquisition Disorder.

Congrats! Also ... I love this: "I came here to kick arse and smoke tobacco and I'm all out of tobacco."

I didn't read any of Tolkien's work until around 2001 (I would have been 10-11 by then). I'll be honest though, when I read about characters pipe smoking I didn't picture churchwardens. I pictured something more akin screen portrayals of Sherlock Holmes and his calabash pipe (which wasn't what he used in the stories). It wasn't until the Lord of the Rings films came out that I became familiar with the churchwarden look and yes, quite taken with their appearance.

Very nice, Jamie. Make sure you load up on the extra long pipe cleaners. The standard ones won't work on that stem.

Here's Bilbo drawn by Tolkien himself. The only other pipes described in the books were the famous 'short, straight pipe with a wide flattened bowl' Merry gave to Gimli in the ruins of Isengard, and the silver and bejeweled ones Bilbo gave Merry and Pippin when they stopped in Rivendell on their way back to the Shire.

Found the Bilbo pic on a desperate online search for the exact description of the two pipes Bilbo gave Merry and Pippin in Rivendell - you just get page after page about the damn movies. Guess I owe them an apology for being mad at them for using churchwardens though; can't argue with something drawn by the man himself. Look at the trees and the lane in the background and you will think of the cover of your first copy of The Hobbit, from when you were fifteen. I'd never seen it before, and think it's awesome.

Reminiscent of the old cartoon version of The Hobbit. I still love that.

Yeah, Fearsome - looks like you have to smoke that churchwarden with two hands!

Awesome bman, thanks. I think that must be Radagast! You guys that have been around a while have seen this, but Fearsome look closely at the end of his staff. You'll know when you see it.

Mr Brog was my first churchwarden a few years ago, but unfortunately it got broke : - ( , so eventually I got a Ukrainian churchwarden which I exchange stems and mouthpieces with another of my Ukrainians a Cossack, but I only have a tiny collection of pipes of which I am very pleased.
