One of their best lines; however, as a connoisseur of their cheap unfinished lines, my answer would be no, it's not worth the asking price.
I have three of their POYs, 1999, 2000 and 2013. Finest kind but you can get a much better price on a really nice Sav Maggie if you just wait a little while and enjoy the hunt.
Good quality pipes, especially for fans of their 6mm balsa dry filter system.

That is Savinelli's top of the line and pretty rare. I have a lot of Savs and you can get a great smoker for under $150. Frankly, anything higher than $150 and I would look at Mastro Beraldi. For over $400 you should consider a commission piece.

Yes, that is a fair price for a Giubileo d'Oro in that condition. Giubileo d'Oro is Savinelli's highest grade for their standard shape pipes. Only 0.1% of their annual production qualifies for this grade. With an estimated annual production of 100,000 pipes, that's only 100 per year. The next grade lower is Punto Oro which 1.2% of annual production. MSRP for a new Giubileo d'Oro Smooth Natural with a KS bowl size is $860; SP sells for 20% off MSRP ($680). When you get to the Punto Oro and Giubileo d'Oro grades, you are getting a hand finished stummel and a hand cut stem. IMHO, a hand cut stem is very desirable over a molded stem. It is true though that you're paying for grain and 100% flawless, i.e. aesthetics, for this grade of pipe.

There is one thing that makes me wonder ..... "Minty Condition."
I'd prefer to hear "Near mint condition" because that would mean close to perfect as possible.
IMO "Minty Condition" can have a couple meanings, similar to above OR this pipe is in "minty" condition as in flavor.
IDK .... maybe the estate was cleaned with Crest?

Think that's pricey? www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/savinelli/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=230828The fact is, that every maker is going to have their "high end" pipe. There are collectors that will buy them. It's supply and demand. That being said, as much as I like and respect Savinelli, for that price I'm going to get a commission done... or likely two or three.

I wouldn't buy one at that price, but like others have said, that is one of their "top shelf" models, and you probably will not find another one in 904KS. It's that rare to find.
I have the unfinished 904KS with a yellow swirled acrylic stem, which I was told is not a standard stem they normally put on the unfinished, but my B&M had about 15-20 shapes all with the same swirled yellow/white/gold stems back when I bought it.
Great smoker for $65, couldn't see paying $400+ for the exact same pipe.

Still a bit rich for my blood. For that money, I'll pop for a commission piece first.

I picked this Shape up in the Giubileo d'Oro Line boxed and sleaved several years back on eBay. I think it cost me around $100.00. I have since gifted it to a good friend on another board. Is it worh that money. I don't know as I am out of the loop on Savinellis. I personally wouldn't pay that much.

All but three in that pic were under $30. Paying more than $150 for a factory pipe is just too much for me.
