Got back from Tennessee yesterday.Spent a few days visiting my sister.Maybe for the last time...Looking Back..In times past I could drive for 12 or 13 hours in one day.I'm 75 years old now and I just can't do it any more.450 miles each way and I stopped half way and stayed in a hotel for the night.Driving at those interstate speeds really tenses me up.Just one little bobble at those speeds and you can get in real trouble..Other than the driving I had a good time.My sister lives on a farm and I sat on her back porch, smoked my pipe and watched animals that I don't see in the city.At night though it's so dark you can't see any thing but you hear strange noises..Pretty Spooky..I'm glad to be home and back here..Hope all of you are doing well.....Driving long trips at high speeds in just one of the things that I have trouble doing now that I could regularly do when I was younger.

Glad you had a nice time. I just did 4,780 miles in 10 days and yes at 80-85 mph it’s a whole lot different than days gone by. I’m 71 and a couple days I drove about 580 miles. Very tiring but I really enjoyed seeing a lot of the country!

Did you bring home a Tennessee Ham? Best dang hams in the USA. If so, I will be right over.
Oh, and welcome home!

It always feels nice to be back home. Were the strange noises animals or were they completely unidentifiable?

I love being outside at night in the country and listening to all the activity. The longer you stay still, the more you learn. You've probably heard if you count the number of cricket chirps in 14 seconds and add 40, you get the temperature in Farenheit. Count ten chirps in fourteen seconds, add forty, and you know the temperature is 50°. Glad you had fun, .
