Hello from Texas and Mexico

Hi Guys,

A lot of you guys already know me from the pipe community, but I'm sure there are a few of you who don't.

I started smoking a pipe back in 2006 when cigarettes hit $7.00 a pack. I decided I was not going to pay that much "sin tax" any longer, and I started looking at my options.

That is when I realized that pipe tobacco was only taxed a small percentage of what cigarettes are taxed. (And if a guy has access to a bit of land, a green thumb and a nice smoking pipe, he can even smoke for free if he wants.)

I started buying pipes, both old and new, sampling tobaccos, and it did not take long before I was hooked. And man, what a great ride it has been, let me tell you.

So, a little bit more about me.

I split my time between Texas and Mexico. It's a long story, but my Darling Wife of 15 years inherited some property in Mexico, so we spend part of the year down there looking after things.

For a living, I primarily make smoking pipes, but I am still not full-time with that, yet, so I also build websites, take photographs, retouch photos, etc.

I have about a thousand interests/hobbies: old Volkswagens, cycling, racquetball, computers, woodworking, brewing beer, metalworking, and at least one or two things that I can not discuss here on the forum because they are not necessarily legal in certain parts of the world.

My Wife and I have one Daughter, and she is totally my Kryptonite, my biggest weakness in this world.

Let's see here, what else? ... born in Missouri ... two dogs, one cat ... type O+ blood ...
