Good morning all, last night I loaded up a Savinelli rusticated Trevi 111ks with Kendal Flake. Grabbed 3 or 4 flakes tapered one end, and stuffed, ripping the flakes in about half then flame was put to the leaf. An hour later I was done with the burn, but the pipe wasn't a quarter of the way finished.
This morning I went back at the combo, and four cups of joe later it's finally finished, not that I'm complaining mind you, just I cannot sit for the hours on end with the same burn. Have a great safe weekend

Half way through this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. A bottle of Boylan's Root Beer made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Suzy and Molly were so happy to see me awake that they allowed me to get a drink and a smoke before begging for attention. How sweet of them!!

My first pipe of the day is my recently acquired Sutliff- Mulled Wine. Bit of a disappointment. Being in the Army, they always had the imported German Gluhwein at the PX around the holidays, as so many soldiers that had been to Germany had acquired a taste for it. My buddies and I always had a night or two where we practically swam in the stuff, as young soldiers are wont to do. haha So I was eagerly looking forward to this blend.
Alas, it just taste like every other dark cavendish-laden aro I have smoked. If I sip it and really think on it, I can imagine clove, cinnamon, orange, cardamom etc, but I don't know if they're actually present or its just an eager imagination. Smells wonderful in the room though. Maybe it needs to dry a bit and lose some of that overbearing, sugary gunk that the wet black cav is bringing to the mix. A fresh cob would help too.
Cheers

McClelland's Dark Navy Flake in a Peterson Strand.
Just finished determining the slow fuel leak in my tractor is not a cost effective fixable project. So, it is a bucket and a strainer when parked.

I get bonus points for saving you money, eh? I actually let the pipe rest and just started on the second half of it. I already notice a marked improvement. I think it was too wet. I'm sure if I dry it a bit and smoke it from a clean pipe that I'll enjoy at least what I bought. We'll see. haha

Just finished some DGT Stonehaven in a Castello Collection slightly bent billiard with a gray swirl stem. Can't let that stuff go to the compost pile! Now embarking on my FVF/BBF/CF equal parts mixture that's been allowed to mingle through the night and day as I worked this AM. Will have this in my new Sav Dolomiti 320 with a light brown swirled stem. Tea, black, of course. PG Tips David.
