So Lady M and trailboss just sent me two awesome CARE packs for no reason at all, which they paid for out of money they earned. Lady M sent me an assortment of primo tobacco, two kinds of Dunhill (Aperitif and EMP), and others that are top shelf. I just figured out the SPC Potlatch is Seattle Pipe Club Potlatch, and their blends are sublime. Charlie also sent me some precious tobacco that's going away, a mason jar of HH Vintage Syrian, Smoker's Haven Best Blend, which they don't even sell to the general public - you have to be on their insider email list.
Also, just noticed the two tins of C&D Small Batch are a full 2oz, not 50g, which is 1.76oz, and of course the Gawith menthol snuff, which I'm enjoying for some reason.
Well, peteguy just posted he was selling all his snuff, because it didn't work out for him, and selling it way below his cost. The 10g boxes he's selling for $2 each; in the real world you have to buy that from England, and the postage is significant. I posted I'd take some as soon as I got paid, if there was any left, then got two PMs from Charlie and peteguy.
Charlie said he'd bought the whole lot, and would save me some until I got my first paycheck, and peteguy said he had some of cobguy's homemade snuff he'd find and send me for nothing. He added he'd probably put some tobacco in there too. Wow. Thank you gang 
Pipe smokers come from all walks of life, some are rich, some are poor, some educated, some not so much, some city folk and some country, but the one common thread is they are the most generous group of people in the world. I don't know why, but that's a fact.

Yea Man, Piper's are special like that, cannot mention how many times I've seen very charitable acts involving gifts, samples or tries. People have given. Keep it up!

I've noticed in my short time as such, that Pipesmoker's in general share a good many characteristics; Generosity is certainly among those- Especially when it stems from a wish to help others experience the hobby.

Dang it. I don't like taking pics of me, and you've seen one so you know why. It's like when my mom buys me five one dollar shirts at Goodwill with her 82-year-old fashion sense and makes me model them.
-Ooo, that one looks nice, and it was more expensive than the others; I wonder what that big C is for though?
-Mom, it was more expensive because they had to pay the NFL to put this big Chicago Bears logo on it.
-Great! I know how much you like football!
-Er yeah mom, thanks for the football shirt.

I know how you feel. I was visiting my mom one year and got a haircut which I thought looked horrible and cheesy. She said, "no, you look great! Just like Barry Gibb!" :-( |
