peteguy's CARE pack of snuff just arrived! Thanks man! It was two mylar bags of cobguy snuff, and he also included a bag of 70s Borkum Riff and a bag of London Dock, which is not even in production anymore
Snuff normally comes in 10g tins; I moved the cobguy snuff to empty, square 50g tins (snuff should be in a tin), and thought they were going to overflow, so lots of snuff. I don't know what he names them, but I tooted a sniff of the first and it was really delicious, and not menthol at all. Oncemy nose has rested, I'll try the second.
cobguy, you know what you put in the last Box Pass? I think that's where these came from.
I'm pretty stoked to try the 70s Borkum Riff, and have never heard of London Dock, so I looked it up. It's a John Middleton American broken flake of Burley, Oriental/Turkish, Perique, Virginia, with a touch of New England rum, so really stoked to try that one. Can't get it anymore too, and it used to come in a really cool tin like this:
Thanks peteguy!!! More unobtanium tobacco, Borkum Riff aged as all hell, and a lifetime supply of tasty cobguy snuff. Now I need to start ebaying snuff boxes

Was it a smoky / campfire kind of scent?
Thank you, sir!

There are two different ones. Let me rest me nose and I'll see if I can smell more than non-menthol.

Glad your package arrived safely. Couple of notes:
The two samples are from the same batch but I altered one with an addition of some old snuff I had bought off ebay years ago. I think it had a slight hint of menthol that is probably hard to notice at this point. The other was from the 2016 box pass.
The London Dock is a Daughters and Ryan remake.

Similar label, but not sure if it is the same blend. www.smokingpipes.com/pipe-tobacco/Daughters-Ryan/London-Dock-50g/product_id/189418

Yes, the London Dock is D&R, but smells delightful. I'm doing a bowl of 70s Borkum Riff in Margaret's sparkly purple pipe and it's pretty good. I'm using the spoon thing on a spare Czech tool to dip the snuff. Less is more. Need me a real snuff box though; on the Bay they range in price from 99¢ to $7,500 for a fancy French antique one. Kinda girly too, though I'm currently smoking a sparkly purple pipe.

I think London Dock was the very first pipe tobacco I tried. My Uncles neighbor gave me an old tin along with a few pipes and it turned out the tin was full.
Can't say I remember if I liked it or not, but the original London Dock was a classic.

When I started pipe smoking I was in the Army in Europe. Not being able to go into town without a pass, I was left to choose from the meager selection at the local Post Exchange. Middleton's Cherry Blend, PA and the like were alway on hand. On rare occasions other tobaccos would show up. London Docks was one I liked and was often out of stock. So I had say Half and Half or sometimes Edgeworth. You never knew, except PA was almost always there. Which I didn't care for.
Cherry Blend!
