Imma was a tiny rescue kitten we were trying to save from starvation. She lost her fight yesterday, after touching the hearts of the whole family. So tiny frail and defenceless she captured our hearts from when we first met. Her stupid and heartless owner was begged to let us have her a week before she finally came here.Sadly we got her too late .We all hoped for her to recover. Sad and broken hearted we'll miss her.

Sorry to hear that, Bruce ... those are tough moments. At least she experienced some love before moving on thanks to you and your family.

Really sorry to hear also. I mourn the loss of every little one. I try to keep all of our babies in my heart and still sing songs to them sometimes.

Sorry to hear that..admittedly I am not a cat person, and perenially I have neighbors that insist on promoting a feral cat colony...I humanely trap them and relocate them to my work where field mice abound and employees feed them. Typically when I catch one they are meaner than piss...like a Tasmanian devil in a cage wanting to scratch my eyes out. last night I caught a cat that didn't have the same attitude, kind of like a crying "meow" asking for more food...that cat stays in the neigborhood. my American Bulldog 'Duke" will remain pissed when that cat roams the hood, but he will get over it.

If its available, trap, neuter, release (TNR) is the way to go.

I rescued one like that once, and you want to know what mistake that I made? I took it to a Vet. The cat was only weeks old, and the Vet applied flea treatment. Next day, cat was dead. They tried to tell me that the cat's system wasn't developed properly, and that why it died, but I'm sure the flea treatment was the cause. You never apply something like that to a small kitten!

Our son is the kitten expert. He say a kitten has to be something like two months old before flea treatment.

Bruce, I'm sorry for your loss. I've three cats and three dogs here, I know that with little ones it's quick to get attached.

My rescue cat Red came out the field one morning, small, wet, ribs showing, she didn't move when I picked her up. Wife opened some tuna fish and she went to town, I sat on my porch recliner, now I'll say it up front I'm not a cat person, but Red jumped in my lap and forever I was her PawPaw. Last year she had five kittens, 2 Calicos, one bigger than the other so I called her Biggie, she was like her Mother, in my lap. Last week she came and laid down on the porch and died, I figured she got snake bit in the field with the big Coulee, Small river stream for you Yankees. I miss Biggie, on a farm you lose many animals but you still are not immune from feelings. Biggie I miss you,

Thank all y'all for your replies. As ones who always support the under dog, or cat, a small undersized, under fed and dirty kitten seized my heart from first sight. It broke my heart to see her like that, and again when she died. Some people don't deserve such pets, who'd let them get like that. Thanks again Bruce

So sorry to hear of your loss of little Imma. They are such sweet and lovable creatures. It is very kind of you to try to help her cause. At least she got to spend some time with people like you towards the end.
My girlfriend and I are cat lovers, we live with my rescue cat that I've had for almost 17 years.
Sending you warm vibes from a fellow cat lover.
