Well it feels like I helped a couple come together... A few months back, I bought this Partially rusticated Canadian from SP, and as with my other WO Larsen's, I love this pipe...almost 7 inches and 52 grams. As I was leaving our pipe club meting, I decided to look at the pipes in the case before I paid my beer tab. I looked quickly went to walk away, and the attentive worker asked me if i had seen the consignment pipes...I had looked right past them, but then I saw this unsmoked WO Larsen....5.25 inches 44 grams.

Congrats & Enjoy. It would be interesting to try a blend that is new to you and see if there are smoking differences between the two.

Larsen had quite a run of great carvers work in the shop, Sixten Ivarsson, Sven Knudsen, Poul Rasmussen, Brakner, “Former” Nielsen, Teddy Knudsen, Tonni Nielsen, Jess Chonowitsch, Peter Hedegaard, Soren Refbjerg Rasmussen, Benni Jorgenson. Ole Larsen was the founder: pipedia.org/wiki/W.%C3%98._Larsen I have absolutely no idea when or who made my two pipes, could have been after the son ran the company into the ground.... people more knowledgeable than me say that only after handling thousands of Larsens can a serious collector tell, even then, they often have to ask the carvers themselves. Mine are all stamped "handmade in Denmark"... the newest one has a double stamp...weird. Now they have white ink on the stems.... I have read that is you see the "smoker in the chair", them are the highest grade.. pipesmokersforum.com/community/threads/w-o-larsen-grading-help.46957/ I am going to take all my Larsen's to the WCPS and see if by chance, I can get any more info...it doesn't really make a difference, but it would be nice to know. Kind of an interesting publication where you can see some examples of a few of the individual carvers. www.danishpipemakers.com/pdf/wo2.pdf

A very nice find, Charlie. About 2 months ago a friend on another pipe forum who's a big collector, ended up getting a good looking freehand I think it was that was somewhat Dublin/volcanoish in shape. Long story short, it was something like $130 he got it for on ebay and it was one of the armchair stamps, and it was made by Jess Chonowitsch. Pipe is worth over $1,300 and he got it on ebay.
A great set you have there, and I like those shapes quite a lot.
