There are a lot of Comoy's collectors out there, but not a lot of talk about their seconds or sub-brands. There are some common ones, like Guildhall, but every now and then something different pops up. I saw this on eBay and liked the looks, but had to look it up, and yes it was a Comoy's second. Stamped Hyde Park on once side and Made in England 212 on the other. Checked Comoy's shape chart and it gives shape 212 as a large lovat, which this is. I've never heard of this line of pipes, but it does have some beautiful birds eye and just a couple of little pits. Any of you have any Comoy's seconds? Let's see them....

I have a Claridge Billiard that has delivered many fine smokes. I researched their 2nds once and there was in excess of 20 brand names, so I expect this list to grow.

Thanks for the posts guys! I should have mentioned that the pipe didn't look like that when I got it, and even though it hadn't been smoke very much it had some charing on the rim, and it was grubby and oxidized. But still, for $7.50 it was hard to resist. Oh, also the Made in England stamp is in a circle typical of Comoy's.

The Guildhall pipes are among my favorites, and the only Comoy's seconds that I own (afaik). The Guildhall London Pipe 250

Hoping that members knowing what Comoy sub brands they may have will add to the posts. Nothing better than seeing pics of older pipes in good condition!

How do you go about repairing a stem like that? I have a couple that I'd love to repair, but i don't want to ruin it.

I had it explained to me. Haven't tried it yet. Put a greased piece of cardboard (or delrin sliver) in the mouthpiece to maintain the airway. Then build up the missing material with blackened epoxy. I bought the materials but am still working up the nerve to try it. Nothing to lose really, the stem is no good now. I have also seen spliced stems, but I think I can repair this one.

I've been collecting Sunrise pipes for several years now. There are some that are ugly with fills but most are pretty nice.

I just checked, no Comoy's firsts, or seconds.... I guess I need to get to work on that! If you guys like the bargains of classic english seconds, don't overlook Saseini seconds...I have and Old England london made billiard that is a flake-strordinaire pipe...every time I smoke it, I wonder why I don't have more.

I have two of them and they're both fine smokers.

No Comoy’s seconds here but I have aStanwell second-Royal Danish. Only one thing -nobody told it that it was a second. It has a beautiful grain and is a great smoker.
