Most of you know this, but Bradley is a very generous man. He recently posted he went to Texas, but failed to pick up some of the MAYA cactus matches you can only get at HEB grocery stores in Texas and Mexico. They are the best pipe matches in the world. The box only opens on one end (so you don't spill your matches), and there's a flap over half the tray (so you don't spill your matches). There's a striker on both sides, and each box has a print of some Mexican landscape painting on the back.
Best of all, they're not made of wood, but we believe cactus thorns, and they don't break - you can bend one in half. There are 50 in a box and they come in bricks of ten boxes. They're also really, really cheap. The bendy thing is the best part.
I'm in Texas, so I PMd him I had some matches I'd be happy to send him, but I have no income, and therefore no postage; if he could send me five bucks for postage I'd be happy to send him a couple of bricks for 1,000 cactus matches.
The 'envelope' arrived yesterday. It weighed 5lbs 5oz. All I needed was five bucks. He sent fourteen tins of premium tobacco, and a big old vacusealed bag of Dunhill Nightcap, one of my favorite tobaccos, though I've only had it mixed with 965, never straight. He also sent several hundred pipe cleaners, and he didn't know I was almost out. Gotta have pipe cleaners!
There were several Dunhills I've been wanting to try: Elizabethan Mixture, London Mixture, Durbar, Flake, and of course a ton of Nightcap. Also he sent tasty HH Latakia Flake (100gs!), Wessex Gold Virginia Flake, Orlik Golden Sliced, Erinmore Flake, Wessex Campaign, John Cotton's Smyrna and Peterson Nutty Cut. Five pounds five ounces.
Bradley, thank you very very much. I can tell you all now that London Mixture and Elizabethan Mixture kick arse. Rich and flavorful yet still smooth; I could smoke either one all day. Oh, did I mention he included extra money for beer? Unreal. Here's his note:
Sent you a few Tins. Some bulk Nitecap. A few bucks for Postage. Buy Beer with the rest. Bradley
Thank you very very much. I'm going to surprise archy with a big bag of Nightcap; it's exactly the kind of tobacco she will love. Wait, I haven't even tried it myself yet! I'm going to finish this little Pony cob of Nutty Cut (not as good as the Dunhills, but I still like it) and load the big Savinelli archy sent me with Nightcap. I'm also not thirsty. All for five bucks.
Bradley, thank you very very much.
