I keep pipes in the den and in my studio. In my wall racks, I keep my pipes bowl up. On table racks, I keep the stem up, except for a few where I have two pipes in the same hole. Then, it's one bowl up, one stem down. I keep some, mostly unsmoked ones, in a drawer. There are a few pipes I keep on the table next to my chair in the den that I regularly smoke. How about you?

I have a half dozen cobs and two unfinished Sav Lumbermen in the work barn but all of my briars and meers are stored indoors. I have rack space for 43 briars and shelf space for eight meers. Rule is if a new one comes in another must go. This one keeps me honest.

For the moment, they all rest on a cigarette rolling tray in my tobacco nook. I generally keep a couple on my dresser in my room which slowly becoming a second tobacco nook. haha Only smoking pipe near a year now, I don't yet have many pipes with real monetary value, so I never considered a stand. Now that I have a couple pipes in the collection that are handsome in my opinion, I have been thinking of making a rack to properly display the pipes I'm more fond of. Especially when I pull the trigger and buy one of the big, sexy Ardors or the like I've had my eye on. The MMs can stay in the cigar box that now serves as their home. haha

In racks on the walls........out of direct sunlight of course. Bowls down and up, however they'll fit side by side. And find NO difference either way.

Round racks, square racks, tiered racks as well. Stems up, bowls up, either way is swell. All around the den and the back porch too. Also in the truck stays a Cob or two.

I have three wall racks and several smaller desk racks. All the racks are designed for bowl-down placement, although I've always tried but failed to find some bowl-up racks, which is my preference. The other briars I keep in boxes, from which I rotate into and out of the racks. The meers I keep in their original cases. I have a large tray in my studio that holds all my corn cobs. I have about 200 pipes.

I have a hundred year old pipe rack that was my grandfather's. It has two 30 inch tall ashtrays hanging by side. Inside the chest I keep a small barrel of tobacco. Pics to follow when the batteries get here from Home Depot. Part of the top of the rack portion was taken off. I think Gramps did this as it inhibited pipe placement. Now I said all that to say this: I bought a bunch of generic cigar boxes to store mine in. All white, same size, with cloth that I put in to keep them still. I like that as (I repeat so often) I am in the bedroom most of the day. I have some sort of canvas cases I keep my special pipes in: The Lavender Lady Ebeneezer Rhodesian Jacob Marley Filtomatic and my Fluffy Falcon Each case holds two. I keep same cigar boxes filled with some pouches and two of them dedicated to pipe tools and other implements of destruction

This picture is a couple of years old. I have since added a 3 tier stand and filled it. In addition, I keep 15-20 pipes in my bag for daily use.

Several pipe racks in my office which are the pipes I smoke all the time. There are a few others around the house that I keep special pipes on, such as the pipes I have made. Other than that, the rest are stored away in my tobacco closet.

I have two round racks, a few single pipe holders and a bunch of egg cartons right now. I must take the time to make a wall rack. I want to see them ALL and as the estate pipe pile gets refurbished, I will need more room. My metal pipes and some others are lying on a shelf in a cabinet, at least I can see them. Pipes on shelves are in this cabinet.

My pipes have been stored in racks, bowl down, in my basement next to my desk. This is where I enjoy them year round now. I used to have a den of sorts in a backyard shed. Would keep the currently in rotation pipes there during agreeable weather. Now, all is done in the basement. I keep a few racks with current pipes on the desk and the rest are within 6 feet above the stores of tobacco. I have a rabbit Air purifier right in front of me to grab whatever it could before it gets up the stairs and bothers my better half. This arrangement seems to work for now.

In the study. Cool, dark, but well ventilated. All racked, bowls down. And about 7-9 workhorses scattered all over the house.

All over the man cave, some lay flat, some bowls down and some in single holders in a smoking stance. Out in the garage are the shop pipes that probably get temp swings but I don't care as they are my beaters. Mostly cobs and with a few briars out there.

My New Pipe Storage Cabinet I just got this old bathroom cabinet 'donated' to the cause. It followed us to the new house and it had no home, until today. It was sitting upside down in our closet and it said 'help me'. So, I did. It looks like with a little bit of work, I can replace the egg cartons with wooden pipe holders that will hold at least 50 pipes and some tobacco. I will turn the doors over (the louvers are upside down right now) and mount the thing on the wall and it will be perfect! There is also an elephant in the room now. He emerged from storage yesterday and is holding up the humidor now. Nice of him...

I have a small pile lying on my desk. The rest are stored in fitted cases, 12 to 21 to the case. No racks for me!

I've always dreamed of commissioning a dresser style chest like the Dunhill 365 day set I saw was displayed in. I doubt it will happen. For the last thirty years I've been filling up a large bookcase. I have two shelves dedicated to my Dunhill and Castello ephemera, two shelves packed with Castello boxes one with Dunhill boxes and one with everything else. Sorry about the picture, I took it years ago one a 2mp cammera

Love that Dunhill display, really cool! I store mine stems up, because that is how my estate racks are designed. Most of my pipes are in 12, 7, or the typical 6 spot pipe racks made of walnut that are standard fare on the used market. I recently picked up this 16 hole rack, it surprisingly works well for bents. I picked up a beater antique cabinet for part of my tobacco's...amoire? The left side cabinet, I would like to make a pipe rack that is "stepped" to fit in there and do away with my hodgepodge sets of racks.

That's a neat cabinet. It should work out well. I do like the round racks for a few pipes. I have one that holds 9 I think and another... can't remember how many it holds. I need to make lids for the jars just because. They both came without lids.
