I've only been smoking for a year, so it's hard to know what is new. I really enjoyed Captain Black Copper- I think that's new this year?

It took a while for copper to get more retailers. I had to get it from some small sellers.

Tried for the first time tonight although it aged a few years in my cellar, Dunhill Flake. A delicious Va flake!

Y'all may not believe this, but I only found Sir Walter Raleigh and Edward G Robinson's Pipe Blend this year. Both glorious.

Well it certainly isn't new, but new to the states, Amphora Brown. I've just about finished off the pouches I purchased on my last trip to the Dominican Republic. Sure glad it is now available stateside.

Most everything is new to me this year, as I picked up the pipe after a long time. I am thinking of one I didn't care for back in the day, but love now. I would have to go with Mixture 79. It's something I would never have considered until I started searching codger blends again. Still, I like to mix it with some straight burley.
Same can be said for Bond Street, now Bourbon street. Hated it in the day. Like it now, but have to tone down the perfume. Too many guys started asking me out.

It took a while for copper to get more retailers. I had to get it from some small sellers. As far as I can tell, they don't sell it in my neck of the woods, (Knoxville) Tennessee. CB Dark either.

I'm always trying new blends so there is a lot to choose from. However, here are a few of my favorites I got in 2017:
Rattray's Exotic Orange Peterson's Hyde Park GH Dark Plug

Call me crazy, but I'm enjoying Sutliff's bulk Mixture 79. It's different that I remember the pouched stuff. Sweeter and almost fruity, with the spice of annisette. Being an old pipe smoker I may need the extra kick of a strong flavored smoke. The wife gives it two thumbs up.

I'm also enjoying GH&Co. Louisiana Perique Flake. It's sweet, fruity and chocolaty.

I only tried a handful of new blends this year. Samuel Gawith Golden Glow and Drucquer & Sons Inns of Court were definitely the best.
