One of my Brakners has the same grey dot on the stem, the other two don’t.
Based on the great condition of the other two, I believe that the stems are original though.

I think that gray looking dot will turn more green when I clean up the stem oxidation. One of my other two looked the same before cleaning. I think you are right, Charlie about the originality of the stem. It looks right. I will post pics of the cleaned up pipe when I finish it. Hope it gets here quick.
