The biggest one that bugs me is the promise of a flavor and getting none of it. I ordered some H&H Berry Nice or whatever, and it delivered berry. However, I seem to get too many twigs with H&H items. Ole Shenandoah Appalachian Berry delivers the berries. However, am tired of P&C marking out items after I order "In Stock" items. I note that both of these have fantastic tin notes.
So, I read reviews and the thing I come up with is C&D Berrymacallit. Reviews. are great tin note plenty berry. So, I spend three sawbucks (six fins) getting eight ounces of this blend from SPC. Tin note is sour fart. No noticeable sweetness or berry flavor, though some essence of Fartus Tobaccus did shine.
Anyone else peeved at promises made by tobacco?
Oh, how could I forget: Was told Halberg Green gives you all the apple flavor you desire. Little to none. Though I wonder if it simply y taste buds I have to mention that the very two first tobaccos mentioned here really delivered.

Well David, I have yet to taste anything in any tobacco except tobacco. My old buds are worn out I suppose. Or, low expectations.
Berry? You are lucky you didn't taste it. Berry ice cream is good though.

It seems to me the many tobaccos don't deliver the promise of the name they're called. Chocolate, coffee, berries, nuts and fruit all weakly represented in the tobaccos. I had some raspberry which was what it claimed. Now the brand I thought it was no longer have it. C&D Strawberry was just that too, strawberry in aroma and flavor. Blends as does ownership change, I can not guarantee it's still the same.
Find something you like and smoke it. I'll keep exploring tobaccos I haven't tried yet. Have fun!

Proceed directly to Boswell's for berry blends and all kinds of other aros that generally do taste like their namesakes. The only one I've had that I've disliked was No Bite Delight.... because it bit me (true story).

My 'tobacco peeve' is most definitely the limited quantity of certain blends. I imagine it will be years before I luck into trying certain blends like Penzance or Exotic Orange.

Scarcity and higher prices. Changing laws for the worse.

Just checked. You realize this tobacco is 2$/ounce cheaper at SP? Are you exacting revenge for the mulled wine?

If tobacco didn't darken my bowl rims I could smoke a lot more of it at once.

I dislike any blend that requires more than a charring light in the beginning, 'hotting' the bowl up from the get go.

I agree with redwinekline concerning the scarcity of certain mixtures. I've been wanting to try Exotic Orange for months now to no avail. My recent peeve has to do with the black cavendish centers in coin cuts. I find that even after rubbing out the coin, the cavendish remains intact like some sort of hard tack biscuit from the days of yore. I'm not certain if this is done on purpose and the cavendish is meant to be a one time treat in every bowl or if its meant to combine with the virginia and perique thrughout the bowl? In any case, it's a little annoying.

My biggest peeve is finding a great tobacco in a tin that's not available in bulk bags. Although I admit that's more a price peeve than a tobacco peeve.

I'm with you on that. As much as that I am gravitating towards pouches. They are just so much easier. You pick up a tin and you hesitate to open it as opposed to cellaring it

My biggest peeves are, the description on a tin does not match the web site. Or a blend sounds good until the description is read and it say it's an aromatic. Also to find out there is black Cavendish in it. If there is more than 2% in a blend that is way to much.

On a positive note, I have noticed far less sticks & stems in the tobaccos available today as opposed to ten years ago. It used to be a common thread in forums, but I don't see it much anymore. Did manufacturers listen and correct the problem?

They just cut the stems and sticks smaller!

Thought of another and that is tins that offer little to none info on their contents. From the most generic description to virtually none, I would cite Tsuge and Sutliff as two primary offenders.
