If the grain on that pipe is indicative of his line then they look like a good deal. He did work for Comoy and other French makers so there's a lot of experience in his work. I'd certainly take a gamble on one. Looks like the pipe in the picture is a P-lip.

For the price, even if you don't like it, it's no great loss. Worth a try.

I have been smoking a Liverpool, though I converted it to a longer stem. They are small pipes by current standards. Height 1.6 and bowl diameter of 0.74 was the largest on offer. Both fishtail and P-Lip are available. The best buy is the SP starter kit @$20.00. As near as I can determine, their using Piazzolla pipes in the kit.

If it smokes half as nice as it looks, I'd say you got your money worth.

To add a bit . . . . . I have been smoking mine a lot. The uncoated bowl has developed cake quickly and has become a good flake pipe. I did the stem replacement, as even in a Liverpool configuration, the pipe was only 5.1 inches in length and was too much like a nosewarmer. The original bit is of good quality (as often found with French pipes) and is comfortable, with just the slightest give to the vulcanite when gripped in the teeth. Pascal believes in stamping. This one reads: Piazzolla -Maitre Pipier - Bruyere - Extra - St Claude - Made in France. Remaining stock is all Billiards and over a 100 of them, so I anticipate a sale in the future.

I put my guess to the test on the recent 10% off sale and ordered the Starter Kit at sale price of $18.00. It was a Piazzolla Billiard (fishtail) and came with stand, pipe cleaners and Brebbia style, square foot Pipe Nail (now marked:Brigham). Same good results as reported previously. Fast breaking in, pipe has some grain and the comfortable stem is full size, giving the little French pipe that could, a bit of a Bing pipe persona. For a shorter pipe smoke alternative or dedicated flake smoker, I feel they are a good deal in the kit offering.

...based on the previous comments, and the picture, I wouldn't hesitate...

Thanks, those look nice. Damn good price too. They are an incredible deal. I appreciate, for lack of a better term "cheap pipes" that fly under the radar. As the saying goes: "There's no shame in my game".

These pipes are about $35.00, will not be for the collector and might be called alot of other names, however they smoke like a dream. thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/2814/experience-nording-erikson-keystone-pipe?page=1&scrollTo=76096
