If I recall correctly, Lucky Strikes promoted their tobacco as Toasted. I think Charlie Sheen carries the same branding.

Bottom line, blenders do this when they create a blend because they're looking for specific flavors. Heating the tobacco more will change the blend. You might like the change or you may find it unpleasant, but under no circumstances is heating a blend a way to give it the flavor it will achieve when aged properly. Sound of bubbles bursting... No bubbles bursting here. As I concluded with my little experiment, It became obvious that there was no chance of duplicating the effects of some good old fashioned cellaring. I was certainly curious if it would take the harshness out of fresh OJK though. Somewhat, but some of the other suggestions may help in that arena. Time heals all wounds.... Time heals harshness. I smoke a fair amount of Pegasus. I find freshly produced Pegasus to be a very harsh smoke. After about 6 months of age, the harshness drastically drops off. When I’ve compared 10 year old and 5 years old Pegasus to 1year old Pegasus, I found the flavor to be very similar, but a bit smoother in the older. Definitely a slow change in flavor with age as I’d expect from a mostly Burley blend. I expect OJK acts in the same way. So, my suggestion is to cellar deep enough to maintain an aging queue.

Probably so, but i haven't got 10 years to wait; I could be dead by then. Since I don't like fresh Virginia's at all, (i don't like what the blender intended ) baking improves them to the point where they're enjoyable.
