As winter sets in it is nice to have a fresh bottle on hand for those cold mornings or that sore throat. The double oak was cheap enough 22 bones for a nice bottle. Poured over rocks in a small mason jar with a handle. What we have here is basic white label Beam that is aged four years and put into a fresh oak barrel for undetermined amount of time. Is it smooth like the double aged Black, ah no. It is however oakey the finish is dry and with out any throat burn. Did it make my cheeks light up, ah no. Tastes of corn mash, black pepper, almost vanilla and lots of oak. In this price range not bad but your money would be better spent on the double aged black. 7/10

Nice review. I have not had the JB Double Oak. Not going to rush out to try it after this though.

Hmmmm.... compelling. I normally shy away from JB because my grandma drank it by the gallon, dropped a bottle on the floor her nursing home, and the place had this horrible sweet-sour reek after that. Does the double oak have a similar taste/smell as the regular JB, or is it different enough?

I never developed a taste for bourbon/sour mash. I don't know if it's too sweet for me or what.

In college, I drank more than my fair share of Jim Beam. I would not mind trying the double oak, but I would be hesitant to go in for a whole bottle. trailboss , I recently snapped these pics at Total Wine to send to a fellow scotch drinking buddy. Insane. I'm happy with my 12-year Macallan.

Wow.... they must deliver in armored trucks, and the store manager must have to get secret codes to unlock the cabinets.
Note to self... hide in false ceiling above restrooms Christmas Eve... drink through Tuesday morning, when they unlock the store complain about them locking me in.

Chico the nose is not like regular Jim Beam and the oak comes to for front. The oak over powers the sweetness as well. P.S I do not care for white label Jim Beam have always liked the green that was seven years old or the black twelve year old. Both of those are gone now replaced by Black.
