You know those tins of snuff you sent me say right on the tin: This tobacco product can damage your health and is addictive. Can't believe you would do that man, I'm pretty mad at you.

Yup,
it seems to be the tactic of the inteligentsia (ya know, since they're all way smarter than the rest of us mouth breathers) to "nudge" (illegally legislate from the judiciary) us to bend to "Their" will!
Definitely chaps my A$$ as well.

The 1968 Anti Smoking ad that caused me to light up at twice the pace... it was so cool

I had totally forgot about that ad... I used to think of Johnny s a positive also... riding tall in the saddle, just like all my other heroes.... that would be a cool durum handle and avatar.
A politician or bureaucrat, if they take aim at or demonize a person’s use of tobacco products, pretty much tells you what they think of individual liberty.
If they could I reckon, either they would, or authorize others to walk up and slap the pipe out of your mouth.
Concern about the health of others is total bs also, it is all about the money. From the article:
The author was overly charitable... “diplomatic” should be replace with “ evasive” or “dishonest”.

You forgot to mention the cheap political victory which will help her career. What bugs me about the fever pitch anti-tobacco sentiment in the US is the duplicity with regards to marijuana. I don't read about anyone pushing for a parity in taxes between pot and tobacco or banning smoking pot in public places etc. The way people almost jokingly take advantage of medical marijuana laws but then complain about painkiller overprescription and pill mill doctors just makes me want to ask users what did they expect to happen once they undermined the integrity of the health system.

The room note of this thread is beginning to smell political. I guess you can read into it that way if you are so inclined, as a pipesmoker and tobacco user I think that regardless of political persuasion, people that speak publicly in the way she has demonizing our hobby bears watching. She is an appointed individual, the judiciary is suppose to be free of people with political axes to grind.

Good point, you could actually take her argument and apply it to “Freddy Fatso Vs The McDonalds Corporation: Where I injected “fast food” in place of tobacco, you can put “liquor”, or any other number of products that are legal, she doesn’t rule on constitutionality, it is about something she personally despises. Once turdbags like her are allowed to cement into place decisions like it, others claim “legal precedence”, “settled law”, and all other sorts of nonsense.... I actually would like to see people like her focus on marijuana, alcohol, fast food, and any product that produces adrenaline, that thrill seekers chase after. Maybe then, when everyone else sees their own ox gored, these people can be shown for what they are.

She must not have a lot to do. Over 1600 pages for her decision. I believe that I could have said it in 2 or 3.
