Here I sit on old porch, after a Meal of Fried Shrimp, and Crawfish étouffée , Smoking a Big Paul Perri Lumberman willing a Hummingbird to start pecking at my new Feeder. Too early I know. Come on you little Bastard I did this just for you. What's wrong Wife won't let you out you little shite. That's the thanks I get for climbing up a ladder and almost falling down and Busting my old arse. Too much free shite nowadays.

When I was writing training for Frito Lay, I was based at the fancy Frito Lay headquarters north of Dallas. They had a really nice campus, with a big jogging trail park and a cafeteria on a bridge over a pond so folks could throw bread down to the fish and the snakes. Saw a hummingbird fighting a squirrel. The squirrel lost. Mean little hummingbird.

Sounds like a great afternoon, Bradley!
I love Hummingbirds and put out a feeder every year.
We also put out a "Seed Bell" in the front to attract migrating birds.

I put a couple of these up in my yard before. Not much in the way of hummingbirds, but I'm pretty sure a couple tree squirrels have the diabetes now. Joking aside, the squirrels hogged it all up and quickly. They managed to break the one I had in the front yard.

When I lived in North Adams, MA we had 2 feeders for hummingbirds. They would feed early in day and then after supper. For two Summers I watched these beautiful little birds with camera at my side. Needless to say I was never quick enough lol. Zoom in and right out!

Gotta love the wait. Them suckers will come Brad, it will probably be a week or so before they notice it, then another month of fighting over who gets to use it most. Hummingbirds are some vicious critters.

So ... how's it going? Are they coming to the feeder now? Did you watch those hand-feeding videos? I never realized they were so trusting!
The "feeder mask" would be really, really neat. I'd love to see them that close up!
