Closer to truth than myth.

That is funny, gotta love the Addams Family! My great grandma... I asked my grandma on her views of the white men that came to her homeland... being the realist that she was, she said that one way or another, this country was going to be settled by Europeans. She said that having lived through two world wars, she was glad that the men that came when they did was the best possible outcome. She was glad that she didn’t end up under a Spanish, British, or a French colony.

You remind me of one of my favorite bosses when I worked in a hospital lab. She could say anything and I could say anything back. RIP, I miss her... but you're here now

My biggest (for lack of a better word) thought on this is that Europeans didn't assimilate as much as they could have. Three hundred years later we look back and see the wisdom, or the Native Americans may impart some wisdom in a book or documentary, but it is generations removed now. Can't go back. Just accept and move on

Thank you...she was indeed an amazing woman. My grandpa was married to her sister and she had 4 kids and died...grandpa sent for her sister (my grandma) to help raising the kids, they ended up having 17 kids of their own...no real education, but she read a lot and was nobody's fool. I miss her very much.
