yup, though I doubt my 20$ PC Cash will get here in time to use it. If it's true they are going to open a few B&M's then I am sure this is a cash flow issue and they are losing money to raise it. Hard to believe they would want to go into B&M's unless they want to try to pick up where Tinder Box left off. Nice thought

I get the long game if they see trends where strategically placed B& M's have the potential to appeal to targeted groups in order to grow the business, and....people like me never place an order unless it triggers free shipping, having a regional presence if the traffic supports it can cut down on shipping costs. And....consumers are increasingly getting used to the service that Amazon provides...living here in Phoenix, with 7 or 8 distribution facilities, it isn't unusual to get same day service. A free shipped order from Pennsylvania is about a week long proposition.... they could ship a single tractor trailer to drop off at regional B&M's weekly or bi-weekly using the JIT approach.
Amazon is eyeing the pharmaceutical market, they want to get in on every type of commerce that they can get in on...except on products that don't mesh with their PC sensibilities...so unless they do a pivot on tobacco, which I doubt, this could be a bold move.

I really don't know how well tobacconists with lounges do. Appears some have bar licenses? I used to go to a liquor store that had a bar license. Heaven. Of course, I can't get out to check on it, but we have a fairly new one on "The Hill" here. Very nice old fashioned Italian area. If they are doing well, and P&C does sell a lot of cigars, it may just be the right thing.

Our B&M has a beer and wine license, and it seems that they do well. Geographic's play a role on whether or not a B&M can get a license, rules vary from state to state...I was told by an Albuquerque driver that liquor licenses are a rigged game that prices Joe sixpack out of the market. I have to say, if a state decides to be an asshole about it then it drives people to buy tobacco online and just have drinks in a setting where the state doesn't get a dime.'''so be it! And the regulatory types think that they are the smartest people in the room.

Hard to believe they would want to go into B&M's unless they want to try to pick up where Tinder Box left off. Nice thought Hi, please forgive my ignorance but what was Tinder Box's business model? Might the idea of opening actual stores be tied to up coming changes in tax collecting regimes or, like trailboss suggests, just meant to serve as fronts for shipping centers? I can't imagine there is so much competition in the etailer pipe tobacco market that delivery speed would be the tipping point for customers especially as production runs of most tobacco mixtures are so limited and seemingly provided to all etailers simultaneously.
