It may not compare to P&C, but Rich has Falcon Bowls, Choward's Gums and Mints, his own blends which are pretty Jake, and some competitive prices on Codgers and OTC's.
All of my orders went off with only one hitch and that was a backordered item that he sent promptly. I thought I would get marked out when I bought two pounds of Butternut Burley, but I did not.
He gets dissed at some forums, and he has a temper, but has never done me wrong.

Better tobacco selection than P&C, that's for sure. Rich never got dissed until his outburst about politics. But you know, it's still a free country last time I checked!

I buy from them on occasion. There's politics and then there's business. I don't care about his politics and he runs his business well and the prices on some things are better than the bigger guys.

I can't fault him. I explode once in a while (duh). I would not do it on a site I sponsor or hope for business, but I don't know the full story, either.
His loose tobacco gets packaged better than everyone else. I almost hate to transfer some to my containers

I didn't care about his politics either until he basically told everyone that didn't feel the same as him that they could F-off. So, I did ... permanently.

He had two pounds of Butternut Burley and a half pound of Trout Stream. P&C on the phone with me, both of us using the "F-off", and not over politics, which I hope this thread doesn't devolve into. Thing is, I still buy from P&C
When I was about 21 I made a meat delivery into a butcher shop. I asked the owner how he was doing. He let out a string of curse words followed by "that's how I'm F-ing doing, what do you think of that?" I said "hope it gets better" and when I was walking out his head butcher said, "See Jack, I told you that you wouldn't get a rise out of him."
From my "FWIW" Vault: I have been called every name in the book and have had many a day that I had my turn. Hell, had my mom say F-off once. Only words

I get the rough and tumble talk that goes on in the workforce, but when a proprietor be it a brick and mortar or online decides to go that route, I figure he doesn’t want my business. More than one gun store or cigar shop acted like assholes when it was unwarranted and acted like I was somehow intruding on them by stopping in. My shadow never darkens their doorway again, and I feel compelled to warn those that I know of the same.

Charlie, I hear you, but as I mentioned, I got the big F off from P&C. I sure mentioned it, but I've probably done 1.5K in biz with them since then, and would not suggest others quit. Rich told a group of people off, if it's the same post I am thinking of. I never considered that directed at me

All good, David ... Shop where you want! Just know that many people no longer will and it's a direct result of his attitude.

I never considered that directed at me I sent Rick a personal email that was diplomatically written suggesting that he might want to get a handle on things, and he responded by personally insulting me. At first, I figured he had used an error in posting while drinking, after that email I figured that he is either constantly drunk or constantly an asshole.... came across as both. Regardless, P&C might have screwed up royally with a lone customer in your case, but it isn’t like Russ Oulette took to Facebook and politicized P&C. And when given the opportunity to make it right, Rick doubled down by flipping people off. There is a difference.

It should have with P&C, but I gave them credit for not knowing me and following their own weird rules. That's totally wild that he did that. And telling

Same me. I like to switch things up occasionally. As to Kentucky, I am a Kentucky Colonel from a family of Kentucky Colonels. I live in Saint Louis, Misery, though.

I drank my way through my thirties, often being told who I offended the night before. I learned to apologize and try to make up for it. And... people had to let me make up for it and be okay again. Larry, the point you made carries a lot of weight.

From what I have heard and read, there are many pipers Worldwide and in Canada who are glad he is in business.

From what I have heard and read, there are many pipers Worldwide and in Canada who are glad he is in business. For sure. When I belonged to other forums, there were plenty of times I had to PM a newbie about not telegraphing to the world about their newfound supplier. Some people ignorantly try to kill their golden goose.

Preferred e-tailer for us on the Dark Continent for years already. Goes out of his way to please customers. Don't care a damn about politics, as long as I can get my baccy here on the Dark Continent.

I used to buy lots of tobacco from him; he has a good selection and is the only one who carries Tambolaka that I know of. I didn't care for the things he said; particularly the part where he did most of his business oversees and that he didn't care what so and so thought, that they could take their business elsewhere. It may be true but it seems unwise to alienate part of your customer base. Haven't ordered from him since.

People act like jackasses, say things they shouldn't, can be rude and have opinions not in line with our own. Welcome to the human condition. If I let any of those things prevent me from interacting with people, I would be living in a cabin in the middle of the woods.
The reality is, every time we choose to NOT support a tobacco retailer because they may have bruised our delicate sensibilities, we are hurting ourselves and our community. Every business we stop supporting may be a business that isn't here tomorrow. Might be fine in other high demand consumer industries, but we aint one of those.
Chew on that for a minute.

Sorry ... I put my money where it's wanted. Tell me you don't need or want it and you won't tell me twice. There are plenty other retailers so I'm not biting that bit at all.

Justin...that is my goal! My dream would be to live remotely where if things ended up TEOLAWKI (The End of Life as We Know It ), it would be nice to unplug from the grid, and live in a temperate climate where I could be self sustaining as much as possible...I have the cellar, guns and ammo.. .time to get the beer, scotch and bean cellar in line.

Duly noted...I love spam, the wife doesn't so much...but after having a cellar full of beans and beer she would exit in short order anyway...beer farts in a cabin can really thin the herd!
