Relaxing after a wonderful baby back ribs dinner and for dessert, I had freshly baked baklava. I'm a quarter way through this bowl of aged Sam Gawith Best Brown in a slight bend 1968 group 4S Dunhill Shell 475 cherrywood with a black vulcanite stem. Might need a bigger pipe the next tine I smoke it. Watching Mannix.

That's a great tobacco if it's got about a year on it. Similar to their Best of Show Aro.

Smoking some Holiday Match in my new Grabow Royalton. Charlie, you may be right. The Lat is obvious in this bowl. I wouldn't say it is strong, but after the sweet cookie I just ate, it is pretty noticeable. And to Dino: Thank you, sir on recommending a wonderful pipe. I bought a new Grabow after being inspired by his factory tour-tale. It arrived today! The ebay seller even tossed in a box of filters(which will never get used haha) and two packs of Dill's cleaners. .

Also bought a Grabow Royalton for 38 from WV. Now, as to the many references to me, even the Andrews Sisters sang an homage to my famous parties. In fact, they sang it for me in 75 when I saw this play: Enjoy

Watching Nero Wolfe starring William Conrad. When I found out Thayer David played NW before Conrad I thought he would be perfect. He was good, but NW needed a stronger voice and Conrad and Chaykin had that. Also, anything with Robert Coote gets a thumbs up from me. Great series

My question is that it being a straight with a tall chamber, doesn't that make it want to kind of windmill while holding it?

He was a good actor, very distinctive, and had the role down pat. But, I'd never take him over William Conrad.

Without looking up the spelling he was also great as Count Sachnussem. The worst NW was Edwin Arnold. I can't find my copy of that film, never on commercial DVD. He played Nero as a laughing buffoon. It would have been a good movie had it not been a Nero Wolfe movie.

I had a few errands to run earlier, but when I got home I started smoking some of my new tobaccos. I decided to use my 7" Dutch Gouda clay pipe made by Penn Valley Pipes & Tobacco Co., since I haven't smoked it in awhile. 1st up was D&R Ramback Gold, then PS #84 Turkish & now I'm trying D&R Three Sails with some ice coffee to drink.

Well, it's after midnight so technically this is my first smoke of the next day and therefore my last post was not inaccurate. Seems the holiday season is giving me a touch of insomnia now and then. Sutliff Blue Danube in the new Savinelli Punto Oro 606 ks bent billiard, which is breaking in very nicely.

D&R Ramback Gold/PS #84 Turkish in the MM Mark Twain with a glass of ice tea.
Ramback Gold contains Izmir Turkish & the Stokkebye Turkish contains Samsun. Each of these tobaccos had an interesting taste on their own, figured I'd try them together.
