49F and raining before daybreak. As warm as it's going to get today. Temps dropping and possibly a few flakes this afternoon. Now smoking Mac Baren Vanilla Cream in a silver-capped 1981 Peterson 307 System Star, drinking hot black coffee and listening to Coast to Coast. Local station replays first hour 5:00-6:00 AM on weekends which is cool because I normally miss it at night.

Starting this first of family get together days with raccoons friend in a new pipe. My first commissioned pipe and the first pipe my sweetheart picked and purchased for me. The mean arse got me a bing from the one and only Basil Meadows, I don't know what to do with it so I guess I'll just smoke the living hell out of it because its AMAZING. If you follow any of his social feeds its the one with the swirly cumberland stem and is drop dead gorgeous.

tea now at this desk. In smoking room, DGT '06 965 in humongeous AshtonMagnum bulldog, Lucite stem by M.Tinsky, continuing reading the papers. Do have original Ashtonite stem put away in a cool, dark dresser drawer along with a few other original vulcanite stems. Just no interest in buying all kinds of potions for de-oxidizing + the elbow grease. Less maintenance, more time to just enjoying smoking.

Not far from finishing this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. A bottle of Boylan's Birch Beer made with pure cane sugar is my drink.

Just finished HH latakia flake in my new Danish stack. For those of you fine folk who asked me to report on how it smokes after break in, I report that it is fabulous. Loaded the flake in it and Got near 2 hours of wonderful puffing, flavor is excellent. I am led by the spirit of Sherlock to ask this, but first - It is a beautiful pipe. My question is that it being a straight with a tall chamber, doesn't that make it want to kind of windmill while holding it? Thanks for compliment on pipe. No, it has no tendency to twist or turn while clenching. I've done a couple of straight chimneys, and they're all fine in that regard.

Got a theme going. Watching White Christmas while smoking Wilke Vermont Maple Cavendish in a Basil Meadows Merchant Marine Bing. Iced tea on the side. You need to watch Holiday Inn if you have it. Really, any time between now and after the first. There is a colorized version that is nice. I used to hate colorized, but they do a better job and it's almost like a new movie to me
