Call me a sentimental old softy if you will...I like to watch Christmas movies...They're about love and hope for the future, and folks being nice to each other.Something that this old world needs a lot more of..Christmas has always has been a special time for me.It's not about what I buy or what I get. It's about letting folks know that I truly love them.I'm an old man now and I don't know how many more times I will be around for Christmas so I treat each one as if it were my last.If I'm not remembered for anything else I hope to be remembered for making Christmas special for others..I know it's early but I sincerely hope each one of you is having a great Christmas season.

Great post Larry.
My baby, Jenni, is now 18. We've had an annual tradition of watching "It's a Wonderful Life" every Christmas Eve since she's been 2 years old. Looking forward to it this year for sure.
Our favorite Family Christmas movie is Elf with Will Farrel.

Holiday Inn with Der Bingle and Astaire. It's really an all holidays movie, but the imagery excels in the winter scenes. Also, some movie that are colorized really are nice. This is one.
A Christmas Story - Red Ryder BB gun. Need I say more?
White Christmas is pretty nice
Shop Around the Corner - Jimmy Stewart
I'll think of more

Scrooged is my fave for some odd reason. Maybe because it’s played less often?

Jesse... I forgot all about The Ref! One of my favorites, now I'll have to look for it. Thanks for the reminder!
Oh, I just thought about another, although strictly speaking it's not a Christmas movie. But I does take place at Christmas time, and that is Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. Great cast and story.

It Happened on Fifth Avenue. Watched it again last night. The second richest man in the world smokes a corn cob pipe in it. www.imdb.com/title/tt0039502/

Absolutely no doubt for me: the 1951 Scrooge with Alistair Sim. Yes, it's Dickens' A Christmas Carol, they just called it Scrooge. If you want to watch it, here's a link, it's 1:26 hours long, and of course in B&W. One of the best movies ever; just try and watch it and not be in the Christmas spirit. If you don't want to see the whole hour and a half movie, here's the ultra-condensed version: Marley: Scrooge, three ghosts will come to you and tell you you're mean. Ghost 1: You're mean. Ghost 2: You're mean. Ghost 3: You're mean. Scrooge: I have seen the light! Have some money.

My wife and I watch the Hallmark channel every night now. But the classics are the best...especially like White Christmas with Bing Crosby, and Red Skelton. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Christmas Holiday. God Bless!

My error, it was Danny Kaye, not Red Skelton. Whooops!

There are only two things I feel compelled to watch every holiday season: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas.

...A Christmas Carol...George C. Scott
My Dad and I watched that movie the very first year it came out (he liked George C. Scott) I don't remember my Mom or brother ever watching it with us, so that was our thing. We watched it every year, even his last Christmas. When it came available on VHS I bought it and continued to watch it by myself, remembering the times I watched it with Dad. Happily, when I married, hubby watched it with me and enjoyed it, so now it is our tradition to watch it on Christmas Eve. I think I love that version so much because you expect George C. Scott to be perfect as the stingy, disagreeable Scrooge, and he portrays it well, but i get such a kick watching him jump on the bed at the end, lol -- seems so out of character for him. We also watch the Muppet Christmas Carol -- it's so fun to sing along to -- and we always end with Blackadder's Christmas Carol. We got into that habit because we used to have to wait until our son went to bed before we could watch it (Blackadder isn't exactly child-friendly, lol) but now he is an "adult" and we make him watch it. It's fun corrupting him
We also like Rudolph -- hubby likes Yukon Cornelius and the Bumble, and I, of course, like Burl Snowman.
