As I stated earlier,I have a great postman now.He comes by a regular time so I know when to check the mail.Last week I was watching for two packages. One from P&C and a package from @10furlongs . Well the P&C got in on Thursday, just like it was supposed to.But Friday when I checked the box it was empty, . Saturday,I waited and waited and then Momma sent me to the store.Upon returning I checked the box........ Nothing.I looked online and the tracking said it had been delivered. Here it is Tuesday the 26th and I'm waiting for the postman, I'm going to find out where he left my package.I'm watching the road and grumbling. Momma asks me what's wrong,so I tell her why I'm a bit steamed. She says oh you mean this PACKAGE. Seems my son brought the mail in while I was gone and everyone forgot about it.
Thankfully and Gratefully smoking some really GOOD PS Lux Twist Flake today !!!! THANKS !! Mark.

Thankfully and Gratefully smoking some really GOOD PS Lux Twist Flake today !!!! THANKS !! Mark.I had my house on the market and all my files were buried in the nose of a company semi trailer....my hazmat certification came up, requiring my birth certificate to satisfy Homeland Security...so I bit the bullet and paid $75.00 to have one shipped to my home....as the due date approached, I contacted the company that handles out of state requests for Washington..."We show it delivered, but if you want another one it will cost $100.00, and overnite delivery is $35.00...upon receipt of failure to deliver, we will refund the price on the first one. The next day, I received it, went down and got recertified so that I could continue to have food and shelter...the next day, my neighbor came over waving a yellow envelope...'I signed for this a couple weeks ago and forgot about it". To say that I was pissed is an understatement....I don't think it showed to her, but I was boiling inside.

This is the best that I've yet read when it comes to puzzling, lame or unexplainable excuses. From the USPS tracking page, verbatim:
"December 27, 2017, 11:21 am. Delivery Exception, Animal Interference. We were unable to attempt delivery of your item on December 27, 2017 at 11:21 am due to interference by an animal. Your item will go out for delivery on the next business day as conditions permit."
I live in a gated condo community where pets are not allowed. Now I'm wondering.... was it a Burmese python, an escaped zoo simian, a feral puddy tat, a stray dog.... which one of these? Or perhaps, considering the holiday season, it might just have been a pink elephant.
Or, again perhaps, the overseas mailing description of the contents "smoking pipe" required a longer sojourn and inspection at the post office, and "interference by an animal" was the best pretext Big Brother and Big Sister could find for the resulting delay? Who knows. Anyhoo, I do hope that I get it tomorrow.
It's a Charatan's Make Belvedere.

I am happy with the USPS overall. There are some little matters that occasionally bug me. I do sometimes get other people's mail; I think this is fairly common unless your mail carrier knows you. Seems like we have a different mail carrier every few weeks; they rotate them on the routes in our little city so that they become familiar with them all. So, in light of this, the mail carriers never have a chance of learning the people on their routes. I can't remember them ever delivering my mail to someone else. Whenever my packages weigh 13 oz. or less, I always use First Class mail because of not only the pricing but the speed of delivery as well. One of the clerks at the post office told me that First Class gets the same treatment as Priority Mail. Based on my experience, I believe him. The USPS website needs to offer other options besides just Priority Mail service! This is the biggest thing that bugs me about them. You'd think they would want to put individuals in control of purchasing postage online so as to not force people to come to the post office and take time with their clerks. Okay, rant over.

I use them all, satisfied with service, give mail carrier vegetables in spring, summer, new girl stopped one day, hot, to deliver big package, asked if she wanted a Coke, gave it to her with protein bar, friend for life. Small village where our PO building is near a Subway, every once in a while I"ll get cookies for them with a drink, my gal in there always addresses my packages and is the nicest person, gets a Christmas gift, something for the hair as my wife gets quality products as she has her hairdresser license. Not saying that there are not bad ones, had one in Baton Rouge wanted to sell me a Teal Duck stamp after the Season, that's how smart the man was. It's like anything you generally get what you give.

I print all my postage labels from Home, it is 10% cheaper than waiting in line at the PO, and it is nice to dump them in the hopper as you see everyone else waiting in line.... And our P.O. is open 24 hours for drop off, and for free I can initiate a pickup from my front door.

Firstly, I have to commend P&C. They got my pipes to the UPS Distribution Hub in 3 days. That's 2 positive experiences in a row and perhaps they've turned the corner over recent reports from the last year. The pipes arrived via Sure Post, December 22, but took until yesterday to make the arduous 20 mile journey to my local Post Office. Another UPS land freight delivery was rescheduled and took 9 days to arrive. A visibly tired driver brought me that package at 6:45 PM last night.

I sold a pipe once and requested paypal. I printed the label via paypal with the address on file. After shipping the pipe the buyer said, oh wait, my address has changed. Never saw that pipe again and it was stuck in "out for delivery" for months. Called the local post office, filled out lost package forms, etc. I assume the postman is enjoying that Pete to this day.
That is really the only issue I have ever had with USPS.
