I sat outside watching the snow come down last night smoking this and drinking my coffee with heavy cream. What can I say, not many things are better than this. Full mouth filling smoke without any sharp edges, smooth, a touch of spice and a whole lot relaxation came from my pipe. I found this an end.of evening blend to sip while sipping a nice hot coffee. Hot chocolate or Apple cider would most likely be a great accompaniment as for hard drink, I can't answer that but given the way the smoke fills you mouth something to compliment that would be nice or maybe something to cut through the smoke.. not sure but I do know coffee is perfect for me.

David gave me very generous samples from two 1936 Briggs barrels. I notice a few differences between the two, and both are very enjoyable. One is more like the later Briggs, while the other barrel aged much more, providing a light floral, more savory and woodiness beyond what it was intended to be. Many thanks, buddy.

In an e-mail message exchange with Richard Carleton Hacker, he mentioned that Bing Crosby smoked Briggs.
