I agree that Morta doesn't ghost. They are also slow to cake. My Mimmo Provenzano is the driest smoking pipe I have ever experienced. No need for cake in a morta. I don't know if it adds flavor, but you don't have to worry about protecting the pipe.

I've never smoked a morta but this thread has been educational. I know Don Warren makes some and I've taken notes from the thread. Are there any others y'all would recommend? Don's are the best bang for the buck. The Davorin and Becker are great, but a half-grand each. Don's smoke just as well. With the others you are paying for the name and a tiny bit of extra artistry. Fancier stems, etc.
