The other day I was in a good mood.So I bought some bird seed and put out Mommas bird feeders.I then hung them on a double shepherds hook about 15 feet off the back window. This afternoon,Wendy informed me that they were almost empty. Now last year we had a big squirlle problem and I firdt thought they had found the feeders. I Was Wrong !

Looks like a 40# bag of Wild Bird Seed won't last too long with the deer family hanging out. If you have a branch closer to the window, you may want to consider hanging a rope/chain of some sort across it, with some sort of hook for those bird feeders. Hopefully, the feeders will have some height so the deer can't "borrow" all of your bird seed. I think that feed stores have a "salt lick" of some sort for deer that you could probably place further up on their trail (pathway). The salt lick could possibly anchor them a bit further from your home and bird feeders. On the other hand, if you get tired of eating Bobwhites, you could always work some "venison" in to your eating rotation. Just sayin'...

1.I'm not against a nice juicy Venison steak. 2.I've hunted my fair share of Deer. 3.I have passed up shots at "large" bucks due to forgetting that I was supposed to be hunting. I'm not a vegan or a PETA member, but I have so much fun watching the antics that deer and coyotes get up to.Spent about half an hour watching a coyote pup chasing a butterfly.

Spent about half an hour watching a coyote pup chasing a butterfly. That's really cool Matt. Its very enjoyable in watching nature. I just returned from outside to take a look at our Christmas lights and enjoy the night sky. I heard something skirt across the roadway South to North a few homes down from ours. I turned my light on it and it turned out to be a young buck now standing in a neighbors driveway near the garage door. There's a couple of neighbors down that way with "bird feeders" out in their front yards
