in the same manner that a Martini drinker regards Vermouth . . . . . . just a hint. To that regard, my current rotation with a light Latakia enhancement are EGR and Vauen: Zeppelin. I have a tin of Mac Baren: Plumcake on the shelf and earlier this year, I smoked 4 ounces of Lane: HGL over the course of several months. I added one more: Captain Black: Black Sea. Got a good deal on 6 tins, so glad I like it. The Lat is there, but subtle. Fits right in with the blends I listed above. A solid smoke from the start to a good finish. The smell of Latakia was more prominent than the taste in the blending. It does leave an aftertaste for about a 1/2 hour, so may reserve it for last smoke of the night.
if you ever tire of CB Black Sea I know where you can send it  I think it is a pretty good smoke. Enjoy!

I loved Latakia for years. In fact its pretty much all I smoked. Then last summer, I started smoking VaPers, than VAs and burleys blends. I have no desire to smoke Oriental or Latakia these days. What gives?

What gives? Weather maybe? This summer I smoked plenty of vaper flakes and coins but as soon as it got cold I really wanted oriental blends. I tried smoking some vaper flakes recently and I couldn't get into it. |

What gives? I hear this story quite often. I don't smoke lat bends like I used to either. A lot of smokers as they get older will gravitate to non-lat blends as you have. Tastes change with time, and maybe that's what's happened to you. |

Tastes change with time, and maybe that's what's happened to you. Well, there's dirt in my yard younger than me, and I still love latakia, so I guess I'm an outlier!  |
