Hey gents, I know this is a tough time of year with the holidays and most people are strapped, but I figured this is one of the most generous communities I have ever been a part of and thought it's a good place to ask. I posted this the other day and I'm hoping I can reach the goal. This person is a fellow piper some of you may know, others not. Either way, have a read and see if you can help. It would be greatly appreciated. www.gofundme.com/saveandrewshome2017Thanks

Thanks for re-posting this Justin. I somehow missed it the other day.
I know things are often tight financially this time of year for many folks, hopefully there will be a few of us that can find some loose change on the dresser or under the cushions to help out.
Merry Christmas & God Bless

Good luck Justin ... a very kind gesture indeed!
Earlier this week, we provided sleeping bags, shoes, coats and dog food to someone who is already homeless. We see him all of the time outside one of the local retail stores and he never asks for anything, only waits and hopes. His dog is kind of the "unofficial greeter" as people approach the store and that's how we met.

Thank you all for keeping this going. To be honest, every donation received so far has been from pipe brothers and sisters even though the GFM has been shared on FB several times.
It reminds me how generous this community is. Thank You all who have donated and kept this alive. I will be leaving it up until we hit our goal.

As I mentioned, some get paid on the first of the month, some get paid by which Wednesday it is. And... there is always that little extra that sneaks into ones budget.

It is a pretty somber time for a lot of people when January rolls around....the purchases from Christmas past, and the prospect of taxman coming in the future. When I worked in foodservice distribution it was pretty remarkable...during the holidays when a lot of people are out and about with discretionary income eating out, we would run ragged trying to man the transportation side. On January 2nd returning from the holidays, it was pretty dead through most of the quarter. It gave a bunch of bored people in management a lot of time to nit-pick and rag on people though...Guys that lived dependent on overtime because of lifestyle and/or because of alimony...they was eatin a lot of baloney.

We must have had a lot of similarities, Charlie. Christmas and Property Taxes. Like you said, things went dead after that. The mom and pop stores got less walk-ins. Then it was the first of the months after that where SSI checks went out. Then it hit Lent. That was several weeks of nothing. I really enjoyed the good days on that job, but in the slow periods, when my job was actually easy, my customers were hard up for store traffic. My step-dad and I never forgot the lean days.

Didn't see this thread until just now. I hope your friend keeps his house. If you fellow BPF members have not donated yet, please do.

Thought I'd check back in here and see how things are progressing.
Although not to the $1000 mark yet, it is nice to see that folks have seen fit to help this person out.
Nice work folks.
Here's hoping that we are able to lend this man a hand.

Yes. I had hoped we would have hit the goal by now, but I can't complain.
I will say I'm disappointed in all of my friends outside the pipe community. There has only been one person that was not part of the pipe community that donated.
That being said, I'm grateful for all of you that were able to help. It is very much appreciated. I'm honored to know all of you.

Hey everyone. We have a member here that has offered to match up to $200 in donations to help meet the goal for the GoFundMe. I'm not sure if he wants to remain anonymous, so I'll leave it up to him if he wants to identify himself.
So, dig deep if you can swing it and let's see if we can reach this goal.
Thank You all.

Yo Jus
That matching donation is generous and a most bodacious idea! I've contributed some already, but this inspires me to reup. The status is well over the halfway mark, and the matching just might help us make the goal.

Hey all!!! Lets try and get this done. I am the guy that will match the donations. You may wonder why, but I am not that far removed from being in a circumstance such as our friend is in. If you are able please donate, this will give a man a fighting chance!
