Tobaccos I am settling on are not overly aromatic. Yes, I know you knew it was bound to happen. Besides Burley Lust I have been going for some of the tobaccos labeled Black and Gold. We have VaPer, VaBur, and B&G should be one. There are only three or four tobaccos labeled as such. Virginia Gold, Admiral's Choice, Super Value, and Sutliff all have one. They are all good. Sutliff is the superior one, but that doesn't mean I don't go to the others as much as I do Sutliff.
The flavor has a bit of sweetness and a tad sour (in a good way). Goes down smooth and is just a pleasant taste.
It's causing me to look at other bulks that have different names, but to look and see if the B&G recipe is in there.
This is a good enough blend that I have over three pounds of the various blends mentioned.
In order of flavor: Sutliff, Admiral's Choice, Virginia Gold, Super Value

When CVS decided that they no longer wanted to be associated with Tobacco products, they had Admiral's choice tobacco's at practically giveaway prices.

At 9.50 for 8 Oz bags it's pretty nice. 10.50 at P&C So, at 19-21$ a pound it's only a few dollars cheaper than Sutliff. I will continue to buy both. Super Value, at about the same as AC, I would not stock up on. Virginia Gold is good enough to keep a few 9 oz bags around

Might want to check out "Scottish" blends too ... Mac Baren Scottish is good.

I find Sutliff B&G bulk to be somewhat off putting at light up, with an aftertaste that persists through mid-bowl. Okay after that. I am finding SV Blk & Gold to be noticeably smoother, with an enjoyable and pronounced cocoa presence. Good, non-fussy burn rate. Moderately damp finish but not wet or gurgling. A pleasing surprise at the recent SP sale which = $1.00 an ounce for a 12 oz bag. Lane: HG-2000 remains my favorite in this genre, but this SV is a nice variation in approach to B&G formulations.

I am going to order some HG on your Ribbitting advice, oh Truculent One. You really should try the Admiral's. Its normal price per ounce is cheaper than SV's normal price, though SPC has a great price right now. All three, Sut, Ad, SV are a tad different, but not a lot. My Sutliff is fine, but for the price I am stocking up on Admiral's.
You may want to try the SV and Admiral's Natural Cavendish. In a very similar vein, equally as good. Virginia Gold Black and Gold and VG Natural are both good, just of lesser quality in taste than the others.

You can put Natural Cav blends in a near empty honey jar and over a few weeks it will be absorbed completely. Glass will be as clean as going through a dishwasher and no mold issues.

I'll have to give that a try. Thanks.
