Great read Pappy and thanks for sharing. I'm on board. I don't need anymore pipes and have enough tobacco cellared for three lifetimes but it's so much fun.
I'm going to try and make it through 2018 without buying any pipes, unless they are real bargains, or anymore tobacco which I don't need.

My New Years resolution is to try pipe smoking for a change. Good blog post, PappyJoe.

Good read, Pappy.
One of mine is to allow myself a new tin or two a month, but not to be outright searching for the next "Grape Penzance". I'm very satisfied with what blends I have. The ones I like I have at least one tub or pound of, up to three pounds for one or two.
I can't do Brick and Mortar, but besides tobacco, often they get their own "seconds" in pipes. Often they are very reasonable, so keep your eyes out for them.
I have no real rules on pipes, save to check out WV Smoke Shop first, for some of their Codger pipes that smoke well and are a third of a Sav in price. I am not in need of any right now, but I say that weekly and I never change.
At some point this year I would like to buy one Artzy Fartzy pipe in the 3-5 range. This is not as likely to happen this year, so I consider it a rolling resolution.

My problem is that when there is a pipe I see that I like it's a good bargain and all bets are off

Make my way through a bunch of those 1oz samples I have before buying more blends to try! I literally have dozens I haven't tried yet.
