Happy Sunday all! My last bowl last night was Peretti's Midnight in a Gourd Meer I bought back around '73, the same time I got my big Stanwell Freehand as a b'day gift from my 1st wife. I had not smoked the pipe maybe for 4 years but this bowl of Midnight was pure bliss! Now, sipping on some Sasieni in the Barling. Diet Dew close at hand.

Fios is the local carrier of fiber optic internet. Super fast, but expensive if you want a lot of channels. Blue Planet is in that Planet Earth series of nature documentaries- I've been obsessed with this stuff since I was a kid. There used to be a guy on tv in the 80s named Marty Stouffer and he had a show called Wild America- That man is to blame for said obsession. We enjoy The Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Nature series, too. Grew up watching Marlon Perkins in Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, and The Wild World of Animals, narrated by William Conrad. Where in Pennsylvania are you from? I'm originally from Altoona. I actually grew up in the middle of nowhere. A tiny town called Knox PA. It was a good deal larger in the 80s - 90s when I lived there, but the factories closed- you know the score. haha I plan on moving back and buying a home there someday. There really is no place like home. I swear the sun is a different colour in one's hometown than it is anywhere else in the world. I know Altoona well, Jim. Sheetz is headquartered there. I used to be their man as far as the computer networks that run their stores. Lots of travel. Over 400 stores and yeah I had to go to Altoona a few times a year to do things at corporate etc.

Dtm independence in the mm cobbler. Talking to mr 3 and boy the curiosity and imagination is strong today. Enjoying the sun and warmth still today, hopefully more of the same tomorrow. I'm refusing to look at the forecast because Im willing to be deluded for now.

Smoking a bowl from the scrap va/per jar, in a falcon. It's been aging for about 3 or 4 years so it's real good, now. Lots of red va in there, not sure about what else, lol. Still hitting the Diet Dew.

Ha! Having a diet Dew as well.
Packing up some Innsmouth and watching Braveheart. Thinking about ordering some food.
Just remembered I have all the veggies for ratatouille in the basement fridge, so maybe I should do that before they go bad.

PS Natural Dutch Cavendish in the Kaywoodie 11 Elite pot-billiard. This great value of a little pipe is built like a mini tank yet is easy to clench. For some reason it strikes me as a perfect smoker for a fisherman. Perhaps because of the weight, the balance and the thick, compact shape.

Just finished dinner. Grilled New York strip over apple wood Garlic roasted mashed potato’s with roasted green chiles and cheddar casserole Sliced sweet potato’s with cinnamon and sugar with cayenne for the gringa’s Steamed carrots with butter and fresh herbs Grilled sourdough garlic bread Tanqueray and Tonic, with of course lime Old Meerschaum Apple? With amber colored stem, doctored Orlik Golden Sliced with 20% St. James Perique. Shrewdly speaking, it makes a finer smoke when doctoring. After an 80 degree day with a pleasantly cool night on the patio listening to Alan Parsons... I really have to up my game to improve on a contented smoke.

Jack knife plug in the RobE Olivewood rhodesian v1 with a yellow tiger acrylic stem and a limited edition sem cumberland stem. I love this pipe, its one of my top 5. I haven't been piping long but this is a stellar example of exactly what I love in a pipe and the longer I have it the more character it builds as olivewood colors with smoking.
