It's common knowledge (at least to our enlightened pipesters) that nicotine helps with mental acuity. I was cruising some brain power/foodie clickbaits and there are some studies that purport to show that teasing your taste buds with new flavors and foods helps increase brain function. So can I conclude that those of us who are junkies in constantly trying new and different blends in our pipes are busy getting smarter?

I don't know Les. Looking back on the decade so far, I'd say I am about 60/40 on successful tobacco choice. Lots of disappointments, but I like variety, though the exercise of it can get expensive

It took me a long time to sort out what types of blends I like..During that time I don't know if I got any smarter.I made some smoke shops richer though buying blends that I didn't really like.

I don't think so. Age deteriorates the brain.
