......... That is the latest rumor. Kind of surprising given the popularity of some of their brands. It is supposed to end sometime in 2018. Better stock up on your favorite blends now!
Can anyone here on the forum shed any further light on the subject?

Believe it is a fact, not rumor. Perhaps a good time to query those who smoke Dunhill as to who makes the best match and what other blends are similar ?

This is old news. The announcement was made a year ago.
Dunhill tobacco and Dunhill pipe brands are owned by two totally separate companies. Dunhill cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco are owned by British American Tobacco. BAT officially announced in January 2017 that as part of their merger with RJR, they would be exiting the Dunhill cigar and pipe tobacco business and that the process was expected to take 12 to 18 months. The general hope in pipe land has been that STG would buy the license for Dunhill pipe tobacco from BAT. However, that's still just hope as there have been no further announcements from BAT since last January.
if you love it, cellar it.

I’ve cellared a solid amount of Dunhill Flake for either smoking or selling down the road 🤑. Win-win.

Some disagree; however, I’ve always found Dunhill Flake and Orlik Golden Sliced to be incredibly similar to my palate. I have enough of both on hand I won’t have any problems turning over my Dunhill Flake in the future if the opportunity and ROI are both solid.

That is not so far fetched at all Mark. P&C currently has a promotion celled the 'Delta Dustup'. It's one of their 'Battle of the Blends'. Delta Dustup Bout includes:
(1) 1.75oz Tin of Dunhill Flake
(1) 1.75oz Tin of Orlik Golden Sliced
Price is $16.99. Of course, the offer is Out of Stock.
But it gets even better. The Dunhill Flake is $10.99. The Orlik is currently on sale for $5.94. If you were to buy them separately, the cost would be $16.93.....$.06 less than the Delta Dustup offer. So if one wanted to try both, now might be the time.

Adding some context to year words of wisdom the whole story, as I can best surmise, goes something like this: There's a Southafrican named Johann Rupert who years ago bought Dunhill and split it's assets between two of his companies: Compagnie Financière Richemont SA (which owns luxury lifestyle brands) and Reinet Investments S.C.A. (which is an investment fund anchored by a big chunk of BAT stock). Dunhill Tobacco, under licence to BAT, had production of its cigars outsourced to General Cigar Company and its pipe tobacco to STG. Recently BAT bought the outstanding shares in RJR as part of a long term trend of consolidation within the tobacco industry. BAT is betting that the future of tobacco lies in vaporizing whilst Johann Rupert is seeking to expand the Dunhill lifestyle brand from mostly Europe to the Middle East, Canada, and the Far East where Dunhill tobacco is pretty unknown and doesn't figure that tobacco goes with the young, bold, english gentleman theme he's selling. Consequently Dunhill tobacco, as a brand, is kind of outside of everyone's eye and so BAT is going to let the production licence agreements lapse figuring that the brand is too small potatoes. The Dunhill cigarettes are going to apparently stick around given their consolidated position in the European luxury market but their being folded into a division with Rothman's and other lines at BAT. As Reinet Investments S.C.A. is the owner of the Dunhill pipe tobacco recipes it's not certain whether they'd be willing to sell them considering their apparently not willing to sell the rights to the Dunhill tobacco name as it could affect the Dunhill lifestyle brand.

If pressed, I'd say OGS is slightly topped and a bit harsher (perhaps due to the alleged perique?).
