I picked this up for my freezer, it is pretty awesome!
Building code requirements where we live have GFCI outlets in the garage, which is bad for freezers...if the circuit is tripped, and if you don't use the outlets often, it is easy to not know that your stuff is thawing. That happened once when my chest freezer was at my daughter's house..we had to dump everything. This last week, I inadvertently left the door cracked on our our upright for 20 hours, almost lost everything again.
The old style freezer alarms generally get bad reviews. I decided to see if there was a wifi or Bluetooth solution...Voila! This works off the Bluetooth on your smartphone with their app, but you can purchase a wifi gateway if you are away from the home a lot and monitor your humidor, guitar room, or the inside of a guitar case.
Super simple to set up, you set the temp or humidity levels where it will send an alert to your phone.
Far more accurate than the analog or digital gauges that you buy from a tobacco retailer...it is pretty cool it shows in real time what is going on, and with a swipe of the finger you can see the graph, by hour, day, month, year....so if your freezer starts running inefficiently, you can get a heads up and head it off at the pass. You can add as many sensors as you want.
A lot of info on the amazon site....for $4 you can get an extended warranty for 4 years.
