...WarHorse Bar for me, though I don't smoke many strong blends these days. What's yours? How much strength in a blend can you take?

I would have to say Brown Bogie. Occasionally I get a pretty noticeable nic-kick, but most of the time I don’t get the kick that this blend has a reputation for giving.
Some cigars pack a knockout punch that makes everything pipe related seem impotent by example... at least to me.

University Flake... though I don't usually find it particularly strong. I know it can knock some people over though.

My favorite strong blend is HH Bold Kentucky, but I rarely smoke the stronger blends. SG Black XX or 1792 would be my upper limit and I really have to be in the right mood, feeling fit and with a full, but not stuffed stomach. I tend to like blends that are middle of the road for nicotine content. My favorite tobaccos are all in the medium range for strength.

Dark Plug is stout enough for me. My pouch has been filled with Happy Bogey for the last week, it’s got plenty of arse as well.

GH Brown Bogie, Dark Birdseye, Sliced Brown X C&D Cumberland, Big N' Burley, Burley Flake #1,2,3, Old Joe Krantz, Billy Budd GLP Triple Play & Jack Knife Plug Warrior Plug Peterson Irish Flake, University Flake and 3P's Plug
There's others ... as I have a penchant for strong smokes ... but these were in the front of my mind.

1792 hands down. I'm not a nicotine heavyweight at all, but I like it so much I smoke it anyway - though on rare occasions. Sometimes I mix it with GH Black Cav to tone it down.
In fact, if anyone has recommendations of a blend along similar lines but with less strength, I'd love to hear about it!

If a blend gives me a headache and/or stomach ache, it is too strong for me. Nic tolerance varies by individual. Health issues can also limit the strength one can tolerate.

Peterson's Irish Flake and Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake are two of my favorites. Haven't met a strong blend I couldn't tolerate yet. Although I remember C&D Briar Fox kicking my arse one time ...go figure.

BTW, what are we talking about here with strong? Heavy nicotine? Deep flavor? Harsh flavor? Makes you pass out?

BTW, what are we talking about here with strong? Heavy nicotine? Deep flavor? Harsh flavor? Makes you pass out? Whatever is the strongest that you want or like to smoke. Strong, heavy nicotine and deep flavor would certainly factor into it, I imagine. For some whose threshold doesn't go past medium, that's fair game for this thread, too. It's a personal preference answer.

Well, to me then a strong tobacco is one that tastes like battery acid soaked horseshit and splinters. I've only found a couple of cheapo tobacs from years ago that fit that description, and Cuban cigars (Dominican are best). I've never experienced a name pipe tobacco that fit that. As far as nicotine goes, it's never had an effect on me with pipe tobac. Smoked a few European cigarettes that did though.

Love many G&H blends that fit here, but Brown Bogie is a favorite.
