Has anybody heard of or, more importantly, know anything about A.C. Petersen Duke's Mixture Blend #133? See picture belong. I’m guessing this is 40 to 60 years old. A friend has asked me to see what I can find out about it. The obvious things such as TR and Google searching don’t turn up anything. I have found mention that in the 1890s, Buck Duke and Duke Tobacco produced a Duke's Mixture.

If it's from the 1890's, it was probably one of the first blends JimInks smoked!

Dukes Mixture is a term that old timers here in Carolina used to mean a mixture of what ever leftovers you had on hand such as in soup.I guess it could apply to tobacco as well.I think P&C sells something like that under a different name.I haven't heard that term used in a good while though.I didn't realize there was an actual blend called Dukes Mixture.

johnlawitzke:
A check of the United States Patent and Trademark Office Website reveals that Alfred & Christian Petersen U.S. Ltd. first used the "Duke's Mixture" trademark in commerce on December 27, 1980. The trademark was subsequently abandoned by them on February 3, 1984. Given these facts, the package shown in your image cannot be more than 38-years old.
Incidentally, according to the USPTO Website, the first use of "Duke's Mixture" as a trademark occured on October 15, 1886.
