My Exotic Orange arrived today with a tin of Holger Danske. I am not sure if it was my idea to compare them. Maybe I just had orange in mind and thought.... yeeeeah. I have not had Exotic Orange yet. I figured were it to be stronger I might lose whatever taste in the HG.
Opening the tin it comes in plastic bag wrap, for freshness. This tin was actually dry enough and ready to smoke. To you Little Leaguers, the tin is not what you smoke. The tobacco is.
Note was mild, but I could get the Orange and some other flavors I will get to in a minute.
I loaded my remaining Rossi Bent Pot (Vittoria). It required some push to load. It lit, packed, and relit on one match. It went out a minute ago because my puffing cadence slowed while I type this. Now to flavor.
I had to cheat and look it up. Here's why. In tin note I tasted some vanilla and a tad of a sweet nut or syrup. When I lit it up I could taste the same. I wasn't sure that the flavors I tasted were real. So, I find out it has Amaretto in it. Well, that would account for the sweet nut/syrup and could also account for why I got a little vanilla out of it... or thought it did.
I was really happy to be able to separate the flavors I tasted, which means I am getting better at this.
I rate things in five stars to there is an accurate mid-range. Three being mid or average.
I would give this a solid **** of 5. It's very well done. It gives me mild excitement in flavor promised/delivered.
This may be the answer to Exotic Orange. So with that, let me say: Don't buy it. It's terrible! Let me buy them and smoke them and you can enjoy them vicariously through my musings!

Thanks for the review, david. Don't care for Amaretto, so you've saved me some $.

Trucky, read the finish. I hit the post by accident. And, you really don't get Amaretto, just its components

Okay. Suggest you smoke the Exotic Orange now. You are inadvertently making an incomplete comparison. I know it will be a difficult and onerous task, but take one for the team.

Exotic Orange - Tin note explodes in your nose, but loses impact and overall note rather quickly. I am packing a General Cob. It packs very similarly to Original Orange. Lights about the same, fine.
Flavor is Orange Crush. That is its only flavor. It is good. The only nuances are that of Orange Peel, Orange Spice, Orange Crush. There is a softness in the draw flavor. Like Original Orange, there is a background of tang to it. Oh, add Orange Tang to the nuances. It's holding its flavor halfway through. No doubt it will stay.
It is as good of a citrus flavor as I had hoped. There is no looking for it. That should have made it 5 Stars. How can I be such a pedantic jerk? I am giving it ****1/2 of 5 Stars due to it being a One Note Samba.
Though I am enjoying it, it is not an all day smoke. May not even be a daily smoke. It is only orange. Okay, I'm full of crap. I am enjoying it more as the bowl goes down. ***** on reconsideration.
My suggestions for long range enjoyment: Don't buy this one either. If you do, "Me and da Boys" may have to pay you a visit.
These two tins will probably last me a few years, though. It will def be a special occasion smoke, with Pumpkin Spice, CCP&BN, LC Hazelnut.
The Holger Danske will be a weekly or more. Go figure the logic, but I never claimed to have any

Side note decision deserves its own post: Were I to have only had the HD Orignal Orange I might not have even looked further. I guess one thing coming to mind is lack of availability of EO. Also, the nuances of other flavors with the HD makes it more interesting to me as opposed to a Flavor Smash

How much was EO this time around? Came across a year + invoice and I paid $14.83 then. When you have another bowl, its tea like qualities may appear to you . . it was more than just Orange to me. There is also an addictive component to it that is frequently commented on.

Was 15.63 Good point. It would make a good companion to Orange Bliss Tea. Or should I drink a contrasting tea? Either way, I see what you mean

Well kudos to SP. They could have jacked the price way up and still sold out.
