Listening to Roy Orbison tonight. Watching some concert videos and this one is great.

I saw this concert on PBS a couple years back and immediately bought the Blu-Ray of this concert. It really is good, isn't it.

I have it, too, and it's as good as a concert gets.

It is really excellent. I never get tired of Orbison's voice and love the guitar playing of Burton.

Is that the traveling Wilbury’s?
They look too cleaned up.

That was a great concert. Pretty good band behind him; Bruce, Jackson Brown, James Burton, Elvis Costello, Tom Waitts on piano just to name a few.

Love Roy Orbison! Had such a unique voice. Saw him in concert in the mid 1980s at The Hop, a southern California dance club owned by the Righteous Brothers. Lots of good shows there including the Brothers themselves as well as Johnny Rivers, and Chuck Berry. Seeing these great performers in a small venue club setting was something special. Sadly Roy died about a year after we saw him there.

(I only looked at the first few seconds of the video earlier, didn’t notice Bruce) My estimation of “the boss” dropped dramatically when I saw him up close and personal while driving in the tour... conversely, my estimation of the members of the E street band increased. A buddy of mine that drove for Sugarland said it was the same with Jennifer Nettles.

I just saw on the TV that they are resurrecting Roy Orbison and Maria Callas as holograms with full band and orchestra and going on tour. Is nothing sacred?
