Depends on the baccy, IMO.
Example(s):
(1) SPC Mississippi River demands some lemonade along side.
(2) Peter Stokkebey LBF demands a Hot Buttered Rum.
That said, water is usually the best to actually taste the tobacco (rather than compliment the tobacco), IMO.

For myself, the choice varies according to circumstance and time of day. Likewise for myself with coffee oftentimes leading the way ... especially in the earlier parts of the day. |

Can do coffee all day. Evenings generally beer ,burbon, or brandy if I have a chill.

Almost always coffee for me, too. Sometimes whisky on the rare occasions I smoke in the evenings.

Coffee through the afternoon. Water or Cranberry juice follows. A diet cola after dinner.
If I need a refresher during the course of a day, I'll gargle with Biotene or have a few Lemonheads.
PS: Tea in the evenings in the colder months and Sun tea by the gallon when it warms up.

It all depends. That can include mood, time of day, pipe, and tobacco. I have a Dunhill this is a great smoke any time with Star of the East...but it sings and puts everything else to shame when paired with a good Islay single malt Scotch.

I love water so cold it makes my teeth hurt when smoking a pipe... raspberry lemonade crystal light and cherry limeade crystal light. I only smoke outside so the blustery days my pipe is accompanied by hot coffee or hot chocolate.

My tastes seem to change throughout the seasons. It's usually Single Malt Scotch or Bourbon and water. Here lately it's been a lot of Earl Grey Tea.

Afternoons: Tea, water and sodas.
Evenings: Scotch...then water.

Burley - coffee
Virginia - Ice tea with lemon
VaPer - Big K Diet Dr K (which I prefer to the real one)
Lat - Big K Diet Root Beer (my favorite RB)
However, I always have a mix and match running and it’s all good with Guinness Stout.

If I'm smoking a sweet-ish tobacco, I like black tea. If it's a nic heavy blend, I'll go with water. Beer is always good. This post is dedicated to qmechanics |

Coffee in the morning and whatever is available after that. I drink a lot of sweet tea and Gatorade and on occasion a soda every now and then.
