Earlier, I had a bowl of C&D Pegasus in a Don Warren Freehand sitter with a butterscotch acrylic stem. I just finished a bowl of Peretti No. 8 Slices in a rusticated Urbino bent apple with an acrylic stem.

Nice deep bowl of C&D Odessa in my urn stack. Pretty well broken in now. Light it up, and let it lay on my chest.

Almost half way through this bowl of Robert McConnell Special London Fine Cut in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink the rest of this day.

Rattray's: Exotic Orange* in a Rossi #8140 Billiard. Refill on the java. Good smokes your way.
* the tin is not sealed. I smoke the entire tin once opened and to help maintain freshness, I place the cellophane wrapped contents in another baggie before returning to the tin.

Earlier, a Funte Hemingway Short Story. Shortly, Peretti no. 333 in MM bent Legend cob. Interesting, that Hemingway is considered a pipe or cigar smoker. I am a Hemingway scholar and have never seen a photograph or other convincing evidence that he smoked a pipe or cigar. There do exist photographs of him smoking a cigarette.

I am a Hemingway scholar and have never seen a photograph or other convincing evidence that he smoked a pipe or cigar. There do exist photographs of him smoking a cigarette. That's the silliest thing I have heard today. From Bespoke Post : "Hemingway Ernest Hemingway is as legendary a pipe smoker as you can find: the embodiment of American grit and simplicity puffing, thinking, and writing. One of my favorite photos of the man shows him with a billiard pipe turned downward as he sits in an old wooden chair, literally staring off beyond rooftops. The billiard is a great choice for a first pipe – it's traditional, straightforward, and handsome. Some of them have a silver ring between the stem and shank which adds a certain formality to the piece, like a tie pin or pocket square. Hemingway wore it well." On top of that you can Google" did Hemingway smoke" and get dozens of images of him smoking. How can a "Hemingway Scholar" not know something about him that everyone else in the world knows? Of course, I am probably completely wrong as usual.

I took your advice, googling "did Hemingway smoke" and saw no images depicting Hemingway with a pipe. Profuse apologies if I have offended you. Kind Regards,

Dramatwist: I found this one, but I also found quotes that he didn't like cigars and cigarettes, but the quotes were from his later years. This picture, which comes up first, (https://i.imgur.com/2mYFnxu.jpg), looks more like a handgun than a pipe in his hand. Sometimes everyone is wrong, including me. i.imgur.com/grICNrL.jpg

I felt like something different last night & mixed up a few tobaccos .... 25% PS Dark Fired/25% D&R Two Timer/50% PS #84 Turkish*. I finished off the Turkish Dark* in the MM CG HW earlier.
Now some D&R Three Sails in the MM CG HW with a glass of ice tea.

Here's one of me earlier smoking a bowl of Distinguished Gentleman in a 2003 Kaywoodie Billiard gift from Sloop John B. I am following it up with Peterson De Luxe in a DRG Royalton. Sorry that we ran out of color film, but I think it captures me well.

Sorry that we ran out of color film, but I think it captures me well. I've seen this photo before. It might be a pipe. As stated earlier, I am frequently wrong, but this photo is not convincing, as there is no corresponding evidence for a pipe-smoking Hemingway in any of the documents I have reviewed. Let's give it a rest or agree to disagree.
