I used to give him Kaywoodies for Christmas and his eyes would light up as if I had given him a Charatan. Comoy's Cask no. 4 in a no-name meerschaum bent billiard. |

DT, most of the gang here knows that I had an opportunity to tour the DR. Grabow factory this past June. My Son Seth and I drove up to Sparta NC and met up with the folks from the Dr. Grabow Collectors forum. Great bunch of folks there and a real treat to visit the place. I posted a dozen or so pictures but alas, they were on photosucket and were hijacked. Anyway, here's my Royalton Bent Bulldog that I picked up @ the factory...  |

EGR in my unfinished/finished Savinelli 404 bent Dublin as I sit on the deck with the dog.
I wanted to try the EGR after seeing so many of you smoking it and I can say that I am certainly not disappointed. What a nice tobacco!
When I opened the tin, I got a strong smell of latakia and was worried that it may be more than I like, but upon lighting it I see that it is a very subtle taste, not too much, but just enough. I think I may be more sensitive to latakia than others. (I can pick up grapefruit in beer that others don't taste too) It seemed to be a bit more prevalent toward the end of the bowl, but again was not more than I wanted. It is nutty, a little sweet with a little fruit that I can't ID.
All in all a very enjoyable smoke. When I finish this up, I might just have another bowl. Correction. I am going to have another bowl.

Relaxing after a wonderful spaghetti dinner with strawberry cheese cake for dessert. Now smoking 2013 Stonehaven in a straight sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver band and a black ebonite military bit. Watching the Olympics.

Finally cracked a tin of Hamborger Veermaster
Using an inexpensive (read "cheap") Casillero.
About a month ago,I was taking the stem out to clean.
It broke.The stem is a saddle bit so I had been
careful to grip it above where it tapers.the break
came in the thickest part of the stem.Found out the
tenon is glued into the stem,not molded with it.
Little dab of glue and a couple days to cure and
it's in fine working order.
