i have been checking out your Dr Grabow Omega pipes on the wvsmokeshop.com/omega.aspx
and was wondering what is the diameter of the tobacco chambers
Is there a difference in chamber size between the BS1 and BS2 models

I think that is a designation on wvsmokeshop to be a what you see is what you get type pipe seller. From what I can glean looking elsewhere there is only one shape for a dr grabow omega amd thats the bent billiard. Bent smooth 1 and bent smooth 2? Maybe bent carved for the bc designated pipes?

one says medium sized smooth bowl and the other says large size smooth bowl i sent the same question to WVsmokeshop and will wait and see if they answer me
will post here if there is any difference
.......... I like my omega i picked up a few years ago at local store - but dang the small sized chamber!
i think that some of the older production pipes may have been 3/4" instead of the newer 5/8"
hoping that there may be a larger sized that is available

check the Dr. Grabow pipe forum. There are very few Dr. G questions that they can't answer.

a lot of the DGs are rather small pipes. I think the freehand is a nice size. I like my royalton bulldog, good for a short smoke. The omegas are about the same size, I think.

Just got a response back from WVsmokehsop (good sign of quick response may have just earned an order from me - thank you )
<< Hello Sloop,
The inside diameter is ¾” on both but the Omega BS2 is a Larger Bowl.

Jock @ Wv Smokeshop >>

you get great service from WV Smoke Shop, they are worth supporting. Have to put in a good word for the home team, lol. I have always been very pleased with them.

aah, the Omega. Probably the nearest equivalent of corn cob universality in briar. A lot of pipers have started with that DRG. I have always felt they deliver a decent smoke time irregardless of their size.

While i did receive good service from WVsmokeshop quick delivery and pipe as promised the pipe as advertised was larger in outside diameter compared to the newer standard version by 1/16" inch but the diameter of the chamber was stated being 3/4" but ended up being slightly smaller than that but overall i am still happy with purchase and have retro fitted it with a fancy lucite bit to get rid of that funky p-lip standard stem
