If you folks weren't so cordial, I'd be writing at the moment instead of... writing this.
I have participated in similar forums in the past, catering to my various interests. Several were related to pipes and tobaccos. Years ago I was fairly active on ASP. Fond memories, but major life changes indicated a withdrawal from Internet social interaction.
After lurking around The Briarpatch for a while, I thought I might take a chance and dive in again. Glad I did.
You have been unfailingly polite and kind, even when I may have spoken inappropriately.
Thank you.

The level of discourse here is almost always cordial and pleasant. Once in a while people butt heads as will happen with any group, but it rarely gets ugly. Political discussions can amp things up quickly, so those are not allowed. I think Justin is right to prohibit those. There are other places people can go for that. I have enjoyed the topics of discussion you have added to the group, by the way. Glad you didn't remain a lurker!

It's a pleasure to have you here, DT. We are a diverse group, and I'm glad you have added to that.
I take pride in the hospitality of this site. I by no means take credit for it as it is all because of the amazing community we have, but I'm proud of it none the less.

I agree. This is a great site. I have notice that some of the other pipe forums tend to be just a *bit* judgmental. That is not an issue here.

adding my "Amens" to Sparks, DT & all the great folks who inhabit this place. Sure glad I was introduced to it (& the Chat)from Justin at a now dead place, PipeChat. Wish Debbie Collins & another mod would come over here (I sent both of 'em the address awhile back).
Once again I ask "Do I still have my Seniority at both"? Seems there was a fella who claimed '38 birth year but passed not long after. I'm 12/40
I was 27.5 yrs on the railroad back in the day. Seniority was everything.
Ed Duncan, 77 pipe/cigar since '62
