...Penzance, Krumble Kake and Germain's Special Latakia Blend...
seem quite similar to me.
Thoughts?

I've never had KK, but I've heard it's very similar to Penzance. I don't see the similarity to SLF so much, though I see them compared a lot. To me, SLF is lighter on the Orientals, heavier on the Lat and VA, not as sweet and smooth, and has higher nicotine content.

Never had the pleasure of KK. No comparison between Germain's Special Latakia Flake and Penzance. I have a tin of the former I'll gladly trade for one of Sam Gawith St James Flake. Just shoot me a PM.

Yo Dra
KK is pretty close to Pz, with a decided more Oriental edge. Both are fuller than SLF, though.

C&D daVinci, Exotique & most diabolical "bomb" have ever had. "10Russians". There are others but was asked for three.

For some reason I always found KK saltier, and a little more muddled than Penzance. SLF is a different critter altogether, and by far my favorite of the three.

I think Penzance is a much more subtle smoke than the Special Latakia Flake. For me Penzance only works in one pipe, while SLF is bold enough to transcend the pipe. Also, the flavors are completely different to me. Never had KK, but it is close to being politically incorrect. 😁

When something is used to describe everything from smoking a pipe to homophobia, sexual assault, and the KKK you know it has lost any power, significance, and meaning it was intended to have. Kind of like "moral majority" back in the day. Agreed about Penzance/SLF, though I like them both. They even look totally different. I think Penzance has more of the Germain's magic sauce on it (which I think is maybe licorice and tonquin?).

I don't taste those flavors in Penzance, but I don't have the most educated taste buds.
