Awesome bro. All you need now is a three year supply of dehydrated food and you’ll be good to go.

Wow! I was gifted a tin recently, and now I see this price. Think I'll save it for a very special occasion.

I do as I please: I see only one 8 oz. package of Stonehaven in that picture. Fail. In all seriousness, that is more of any of those blends at one time. You are a lucky guy.

I have been gifted with the only Esoterica blends I have smoked. The Stonehaven was tasteless to me and completely uninteresting. The Penzance is very good, but only works for me in one pipe. I will smoke the tin of Penzance I have and enjoy it, but I would buy it for any reasonable retail price. I prefer to spend my fancy tobacco money on Wilke blends. I have yet to hear anything that explains the attraction, except for the limited availability.

I have had some Esoterica blends such as Dorchester and have thought they were pretty bland, but not horrible, just sorta "ehhh". I had Stonehaven and Penzance and thought they were phenomenal. There are other blends that could take their place, however.

My faves are Dunbar and Dorchester. I'm good for maybe one or two bowls of Stonehaven a month. Any more than that and it becomes a bore. Penzance I don't smoke at all. When I first tried it in 2996 I just didn't like it. I jarred that bag and gave it another shot in 2014. Still didn't like it. I have a few bags stashed away for sharing, gifting, or gouging. No trading. People are delusional about the value of their Holly's Non Plus Ultra. In case you didn't know, Dan Tobacco's Holly's Non Plus Ultra is the best tobacco made today, bar none. If you don't believe me, just check out the reviews on tobaccoreviews.com. You were spot on with Dunbar and than I looked up the Dan Tobacco.

Moisture content plays a huge role in how these blends taste, and with Stonehaven there is a very small range where the blend releases everything it's got or is cardboard. I've always considered Stonehaven a PITA for that reason. Limited availability is a large part of its attraction. We value the rare, and hard to get.

I have a dozen or more blends that I can enjoy with little fuss. I had a small sample of Stonehaven to work with. I had enough Penzance for about 20 bowls, so I had a chance to discover the magic combination. I know they're not the same, but Wilke #191 has the same TR rating and I can enjoy it in any pipe under any conditions. Same with #515 as Frog Morton. I guess I just don't have the Stonehaven taste buds installed.

For years I gave the stuff away. I did too, and still do. Why let anything sit if someone might enjoy it? The longer I live, the more I hate to see people accumulate "stuff", then let it sit unused. Being totally worthless as it's being possessed/hoarded just for the sake of vanity. America is especially notorious for this as we are constantly told daily by advertising that what we have is not good enough, or of sufficient quantity. And when we sell something it has to be at the absolute highest dollar we can get (Ebay). Again my age reveals my disgust with human greed. Sharing is declining worldwide. Since losing my health, I have been dramatically downsizing everything I own, due to financial distress, and trying to live on Disability income. Last week I gave away one pipe, my prized box of Davidoff matches I got in Vegas, and two bags of tobacco to some of the guys at the smoke shop. That's what I love about the local pipe meets, sampling many new blends everyone stacks up on the table without having to pay top dollar for it. As my buddy says, " poor folks have poor ways".

My DNA wants Charleze Theron. It doesn't care that I am old, dried out and moldy. Myself, Christie Brinkley. I had the pleasure of meeting her Dec. '09. She looks even better in person. She's 62, and looks better than most women half her age. It must be in the genes.

Yeah, I noticed the sudden increase of people selling off their Esoterica holdings on forums for a modest profit, rather than gouging on eBay. No issue with either activity since no one is forced to pay those prices. I've never had to buy the stuff at more than retail as I've found a few reliable B&M's with no Internet presence who are happy to sell to me. I'm stocked with all I'm going to need, so the only time I order is for someone else. And before anyone asks for those sources, don't. All of them have asked me not to give out their numbers as they're not interested in cherry pickers. I buy a variety of blends from them, not just Esoterica, so they're happy to have me as a customer. Selling Esoterica on eBay is a risky business - first, I'm pretty sure it's against eBay's policies (oft ignored) to sell tobacco products, and second, scammers abound. When scammed, it's been my experience that eBay almost always sides with the buyer in disputes. Unfortunately, this leaves the seller out in the cold. I think people are selling Esoterica on the forums (to trusted or known buyers) at a marginal profit to reduce exposure to eBay scammers.
