Got to see Tull in the Lakeland Civic center War Child tour. Comparing live to studio music I still think Tull was the best I've ever seen

If you were in SF thru the 6os & 70s you probably saw a lot of bucket list performances

Jerry was especially fun to hang with... I love the dead, always have....seen them plenty of times across the east coast since 1981.
But, I've always loved JGB much more...those were the shows I remember fondly.
Seeing a show in the 60's or 70's would have been awesome....I couldn't imagine living it....wish I could have heard the wall of sound...
Have you heard Weir's "Blue Mountain"? I absolutely love that disk...it is like a soothing balm for the soul.

I saw The Greatful Dead and Blue Oyster cult in the early 80's at the Cow Palace on New Years Eve...great concert, but the deadheads were a little much...funky body odors were not masked much by the body oils...them repurposed school buses must have been quite a petri dish. 1986...Shoreline Ampitheater had just opened, and one of the first shows was the Greatful dead...the 7-11 that I stopped at at 2 AM on Old Middlefield way was not ready for the deadheads....A single guy managed the facility as they descended on the place as I got my coffee headed on a trip to LA hauling a truckload of beef...that cat got swamped. One Deadhead put a can of chili in the microwave and turned it on...blue sparks and smoke billowed out of the door. As the clerk attended to it he saw a guy heading out with a couple of 12 packs under his Mexican Serape... Stop! Yelled the clerk and the Deadhead dutifully dropped the 12 packs of bottles creating quite a mess.... a dozen or so others filed out with their pickings unmolested. It was quite a scene...in all the commotion I forgot about what I was doing and got out of there grabbing gears in my 1972 Transtar cabover, coffee in between my legs, I grabbed a gear and my coffee cup did a 180 and I thought that it was the end of fatherhood for me... my nuts were roasted from the commercially brewed coffee...thought I was losing skin on that one. I got down to Ft. Hunter Liggett for my first stop on my 3 day run, noticed that the woman was staring at my waist...the coffee had dried into a huge yellow stain, looked like I had pissed my jeans. You can't make this stuff up folks...when things like this happen, you remember it all.

Thanks Don, My truck had the big Texas Chrome bumper, I had the big fuel tanks, and the roof deflector...it looked a lot nicer, but it rode like a pissed off mule compared to my current rig....still, I could have bought the tractor when I left, wish I did.

I have. Good tracks. Bob is cool, but I always got along better with Jerry. Make of that what you will.

While cooking, I'm listening to a mix I made of the Rat Pack's Christmas music. They have a CD, but it's not complete.
